My 2 yr old laptop (windows 10) fully updated was USELESS.Server snake -server snake- server snake. But not the old clunker -a rebuild worked like a dream. Played Yoworld for hours on it. I will not spend another dime on this game - Unless this issue is addressed.

Whatever update they did BACKFIRED- adding extra connections? Operating system ban?
So why doesn't BVG make an official post letting people know this rule and or connections update- then explain why some of us with newer machines are unable to play as well. I am enjoying another game i love with NO headaches.
Are they ignoring this for some reason? Also my brothers BRAND new gaming PC max's out at 100% CPU. Fans, all 3 of them spinning so hard i could have dried my hair by it. what is that all about? How would anyone know that next to no one is having issues? Many players gave up on sending tickets. They just wait to see if the issue is fixed.

Is this the current Viking staff? If so they are probably understaffed and doing what they can.
[*]Image

I will miss the game, but when updates behave more like a cleverly disguised virus i got to move on. I will check back periodically to see if there is a genuine change.so until then i wish everyone a happy- happy new yr. Candy  :rose:

If the game is working on your older computer, and not your new one, that would indicate that there is an issue on your computer. If you submit a ticket, our support team would be happy to investigate that further.

Has your brother gone into his task manager to see where all the usage is coming from? You have to de-crapify newer PCs, they come LOADED with so much crap you'll never use or never need. This crap runs in the background as soon as you start. He should also check his start up apps as well, lots of the crap hides there!

I'd check the RAM on any of these machines. You need at least 8, but 16 usually keeps the fans from spinning.

Most of the problems in Yo are related to systems that don't have the tech needed to run the game.

I will say Yo has been glitchy for me lately. It has been locking up a lot for no reason. And I'm running 64GB of RAM with an incredible processor and graphics driver. So something has been wrong with the code for about 2 weeks.

It's been "locking up" for most players the last 2 weeks. I noticed something in the last 2 weeks that never happened before, if I have the game opened & then open a new tab to do something else, I get a message pop up that states that YoWorld is using an unusually large amount of usage & would I like to close it. I have never gotten than message before the last 2 weeks.

I had to stop playing on Chrome because I couldn't even log on. Downloaded a new browser and have refreshes from time to time, but can actually log on. Still not sure why Chrome stopped working for the game, but everything is working fine from the Opera GX browser.

This is a quick update and response to my brothers gaming PC. the huge CPU consumer is none other than Yoworld, his task manager clearly shows this. all other CPU consumers are managed by him. and they are disabled when possible. Back when i started playing years ago i bugged him to try Yoworld. Not his usual game but he went ahead and actually liked it. Yoworld has always been a high CPU consumer for some.

Thank you, Viking Andrew, for the suggestion- however, every other game i play goes like lightning on my laptop, along with my old rebuild-with minimal to moderate CPU consumption.

Yoworld is still server snake- server snake on my 2-year-old laptop. If it is an issue with my Newer PC fully updated-then it is only with Yoworld that it has an issue.

I was able to change my Avatar and move to the new yrs house and decorate-on the old rebuild.
there was a post from Beamer about fixing the many log-in and freezing issues in the game.I will check back periodically.

Thank you for the comments
Have a very happy New Year :rose:

Yoworld standalone app:
avg 2800MB Memory/RAM usage, with a whopping 21 subsystems active and a 5% avg CPU...
* no ads loading on side, just thumbnails for "related games" on side.
** Ads don't load (Perpetual black loading screen)
*** No freezing

Yoworld via Firefox:
Instant freeze (This page is slowing down Firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page).
*** spiked at 11.4gigs of Memory/RAM avg
Reload>
CPUsage: 12 GIGs avg ... up to an OBSCENE 55% CPU during loading and/or ad side-ad loads.
p.s. numbers are worse when I turn off script shield mods/give scripting permissions for web-page... and I get cross-script warnings (which I assume is BAD!... see below)

Firefox 22-25 extra subsystems (25 watching ad) while Yoworld is loaded.

When I can watch ads via Firefox, it can take a couple hours to just get to the 'free' Yocash.
Today it was relatively a straight go to the Yocash 'reward' and then a strggle to get more coin 'rewards' so I gave up... regardless of how often the ads change on the side-bar.

My Computer: Desktop
WIN 11 (home) up-to-date
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, 6 core, 12 logical processors.
Video card: NVidia GeForce RTX 3060
RAN:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 15.9 GB
Total Virtual Memory 34.2 GB
Page File Space 18.4 GB

**** So you see, regardless of what the BVG Reps profess, this is not a personal computer issue, especially for those who have relative up-to-date hardware and systems. ****

P.p.s:

"Cross-site scripting (XSS) is a common web application vulnerability that allows attackers to insert script code into an application and have another user unknowingly execute it. XSS can have serious consequences, including:

Tricking users into providing login credentials
Attackers can trick users into providing their login credentials, which can give them administrative access to the web application.

Stealing session cookies
Attackers can steal a user's session cookies and use them to log in as the victim.
Introducing malicious JavaScript
Attackers can introduce malicious JavaScript into regular pages, which can expose sensitive information.
Downloading malware
Attackers can download malware to the user's computer, such as a trojan, ransomware installer, or cryptocurrency mining script.
Taking control of data and functionality
Attackers can take control of data and functionality if the user has privileged access to an application.

XSS vulnerabilities can occur in common places, such as comments, account names, or page/post titles. To prevent XSS, you can:

Encode all characters using the \xHH format

Use an HttpOnly flag to set a cookie that is unavailable to client-side scripts
Use fuzzing, an automated software testing technique that injects invalid inputs into a system to find vulnerabilities..."

P.P.P.S:
** Cross-scripting warnings are a sign of potential nefarious activity. It is 100% BVG's responsibility, not the user's.
If they are the source of the cross-scripting issues, that is criminal intent, so the original poster's concerns are 100% valid.

Well that was a nerdgasm for me.

To be fair, no one knows exactly why anyone's device fails at running Yo at any given moment. There are way too many variables, including the ones unknown to us within the game code. It would literally take a packet by packet analysis - ain't nobody got time for that. LOL

But nice stats on your system. I've been having trouble with Yo locking up and my systems are pure speed, power, and space. So yeah - the Yoverse has been sloppy lately. It's irritating as hell. I am hopeful they'll stabilize it soon. They've tried some stuff, yet it persists across all browsers whether on FB or direct to BVG.

Here's to hoping they figure it out sooner rather than later....... :drink:

thanks for how you almost always explain anything about computers in a fantastically simple manner, altough you can write some computer posts way beyond my ability to understand. :D you and star can completely leave me behind sometimes. i'm definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer about computers. :haha: i still have absolutely no earthly idea why my macbook air laptop is still almost flawlessly running yo. o_o

Thank you for mentioning me, Diana :haha: Strange-but-not-stramge is that I just thought of you about 3 hours ago, wondering why it's been a while since your last post.....and then voila, here you are, posting and mentioning me. Quantum entanglement is real :haha:

You are most welcome. I spend my days explaining tech to 60 year old men who can tell me step by step how to repair the carburetor on a '75 Camaro, but they get lost with tech beyond ON/OFF. LOL

As far as your Mac, I'm glad its blazing Yo for you! I've a few buds who are also doing ok in Yo with their Apple stuff, and a few who aren't. This one is very puzzling. I did a complete cache clearing last night of all devices, just to see if there was something there. Nope. I will say the problem was less frequent last night. It usually happens about 3 times an hour. Last night it only happened once. My wife says it's the Yogod punishing me for bothering all the nice people at Altons and Sky. LOLOL

I'm running Yo on a 3 year old medium grade laptop. I have 8 ram and 64 bit whatever that means. I play mostly on the app, and switch to facebook when I'm having issues with a lot of restarting. I can mostly play normally, but if I try to do the same thing for too long, such as try to create a new outfit, I will eventually run out of memory and have to restart. I don't get why a silly little browser game needs so much memory. I've tried to increase memory and it seems to be running already at full capacity. That being said, I do okay most of the time. I feel for you all dealing with computer issues all the time. It would make me nuts.
