Im sorry I need to vent! I spent almost an hour decorating and layering the room for the diamond challenge, then i wanted to add an item, left the room went to grab it, and when i came back all the layering was undone! Just before finishing re-layering i get the refresh message! what's the deal with layering in these challenges? is this a one time thing ? or i just can't leave the room without the layers not saving properly?

The layering tool only works in the current edit session of a gem event room. Once you back out the layering is all lost. You need to do all your layering in your very last edit in which you are submitting your room. The image it shows you when you see the window that asks you if you're ready to submit is what the voters will see.

Trying to save your edits along the way and it not holding the layering is incredibly frustrating. I find it best to create simpler designs that don't involved much layering, and keep track of the last items that need to be layered in that last edit. I wish they could fix this but i don't know if they ever will.

I feel your pain. i hate this about the gem event decorating, and it raises my blood pressure to feel i'm going to lose my editing or layering due to disconnections.

AND once the event is over, the layering will no longer be there.

I have been taking frequent screen shots that I can refer to if I have to leave or get a dreaded refresh screen so that I don't have to remember everything. I either just keep my screen shot open or will delete pics that I have saved. I also do some pre-planning and list items on a text document to refer to. There was a time I might have been able to remember everything, but not anymore!!!

Good to know. I thought that it was a problem on my end instead of a BVG glitch.

hahah my memory is that bad I pressed [Prt Scrn] and forgot to open Paint
and copied a password to login to Facebook or somewhere and then
was like ok wheres my screen shot .... arrrghhh ( and other words that aren't allowed here)

not the first time I've done that either

as for layering the voting thread is good to look at what rooms look like when people vote they're deffo NOT what we get back after voting

UGGHH! The dreaded refresh screen got me today. I spent a long time working on what I thought would be a gorgeous room, only to have the pop up tell me I have to refresh! You know what that means... I lost everything and back to a blank room. Nope... not gonna do it. Just don't have the energy to waste with these damn refreshes... and for me, I just bought a new Mac mini and working great, except here in YO. Im so fed up... another GEM contest down the drain....
