And I might add, their responses seem to be what I would expect from a Viking, not from a fellow player of this game. We are all quite able to express our opinions. We do not hold back because we are afraid our status or perks will be affected. We support this game financially. We can represent ourselves. And not to be trite, but we do put our money where our mouths are.

I don't support the idea of a city council either. I prefer to continue relaying my feedback directly to BVG w/out a go-between.
Where are the council gathering their feedback from? Are they reaching out to players? Or is it mainly their own feedback being shared with the Vikings? I've seen absolutely nothing from/about them since they took office until this announcement was posted. And actually I've forgotten who most of them are.

Agree with both of you.
It feels to me like it's just a way of the Vikings getting out of having to read our feedback and having any communication with us and transparency. And it seems if the feedback is being passed on to the Vikings that they are not doing much of anything with it, though the Vikings just tell us even though it's been quiet, they are doing this or that.
I was under the impression they gathered feedback from the forums and Discord and passed it on to the Vikings. Someone mentioned somewhere that the council members sometimes hold events to gather feedback to share with BVG. If that's the case, they have never been announced anywhere that I have seen. And I don't look at events other than the occasional Viking party, so just looking through events all the time to spot one of these isn't going to happen. Maybe they tell their friends they're having an event for this, but how would the rest of us know? I was iffy about this council from the moment it was announced, but tried to be cautiously optimistic about it. I have yet to see any changes to the game as a result of it.
And I mean no offense to the council members when I say this. I appreciate the efforts I assume they are making. I just feel like this system isn't conducive to really putting our feedback to use. BVG should have the staff for this purpose, and clearly they don't. So they are asking players to volunteer to do the work they should be doing. With all the money we've poured into the game over the years, they should be able to hire staff.
Viking Andrew wrote:Hi YoFans,
We want to take a moment to thank the YoWorld Council for the time and energy they give to representing the community. The Council is an important channel for us—they gather suggestions, feedback, and concerns directly from players and bring them to the Vikings.
That said, it’s important to be clear about their role:
The Council does not have access to all of our internal plans or timelines.
They can’t share details about in-progress projects until we’re ready to communicate them officially.
Their main purpose is to make sure your voices are heard and your feedback reaches the team.
We know it can sometimes feel like things are quiet, but please understand that the Council is doing their part. When we’re ready to announce new features, updates, or initiatives, you’ll always hear it directly from us, the Vikings.
We’re grateful for the Council’s contributions and for all the players who continue to share their ideas and passion for YoWorld. Together, you help shape the game’s future

Ever wonder how many do not have access to a council member?

Are you aware this is worded in a way that actually discourages people reaching out to you directly?
(lol do you know Im cursing at myself for feeling the need to point this out --- that I dont really enjoy this dance. That I would rather just fan girl over all the great stuff)

So the new suggestions tab and the help tab ? -- what are they for .....
Thought the team was to trouble shoot issues in your ideas before they hit the general population, for example I would have told you that the current col2025 costume might have required more attention from the art dept before releasing it. - rather then limited what ideas are heard based on who you are friendly with? - seems very cliquey and not at all friendly or fun.
Sorry those that are on the counsel, thank you for your efforts and your willingness to do this.
