situation: I bought Green Jayrich Fur Boots off of AH for 50,000c because I feel like it was a good deal (I have no clue)

I make an event "S> Jayrich Fur Boots Green" and a guy comes and asks "how much" and I said "offer please." He said "your item, your price" and I replied with "okay ty ss" and the response I got was "pffft noob."

So my questions are... Do you offer on items? And do you ever sell items and ask for offers? :)

Have a good day!! :D xox

Personally, I do not stay at any event when someone says "make offer".
It's almost always a set up for being harassed or laughed at.
I think if someone wants to sell something, they should know what kind of price they want to get for it.

It's like being at an auction and saying No Res but getting mad when no one bids high enough and leaving.

I just don't deal with those people at all.
Just my opinion.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel somewhat apprehensive when someone asks me to make an offer. I do try to make what I feel are reasonable offers, but it seems like they usually get declined and sometimes I even get kicked before being able to offer more. It sometimes makes me feel like if they're asking me to offer, it's because they are just hoping to get a lot more than the average going rate for something. (I know that's not why everyone asks for offers, but in a lot of the experiences I've had it seems to be the case)

First off, I don't make events. I have been to them but haven't felt the urge to ever hold one. That being said; I do believe you should have a price in mind, either they will buy or they will haggle... either way your event your prices. Good luck! I hope all your events go well....

i would have left without offering as well, imo, if a person says offer... they are just hoping a person offers more than they actually want in the first place BUT there really was no cause for them to call you a noob.

Yeah, I do not like going to a FS event and then get the "offer remark" from the seller but I will say there have been times when I throw out a low offer and they accept. As for the boots in question, I have seen them sell for 5k. GL

I agree with him, it's your item your price. I never offer if I'm buying something, that's just plain dumb. You don't go to walmart and the staff tell you to offer a price on the items there. If I want I will say 'obo' (or best offer) so if they don't like my price they can counter offer. I do think it was rude to basically tell him you won't sell to him because he didn't offer a price on something YOU are selling.

People who hold sales and don't list prices are my biggest annoyance on yo. Especially if they make a trading page sale and write "ask for prices or offer" seriously why can't ppl just list prices without making others ask for them? They would sell more items if they actually listed the price. (btw this isn't aimed at the op but just at all sales in general) Person who holds event should come up with the price whether wtb or wts. :|

Asking me to offer is a guaranteed lost sale from me. I don't make people offer when I'm selling, so I won't do it myself.
