I have a ton of houses and am desperate to find items that I know from my inventory that I have but cant find... :(

So my question is - how are players nowadays, locating items that they know they have, but are not sure where??

To the Vikings: -This is one of the reasons that the YoVille profile pages where very useful. At least then, we could look at the pictures of all our rooms /houses and find where stuff was placed.

Is there a way to include a locating item tool in our inventories alongside the search function.???

I find if I go out and buy another one, I immediately find the one I had. :)

It is a problem. I do hope yo.com makes a return if only for this reason. Some of us have storage issues. *raises hand*

the only way I can advise you, without the profile page, is how I had to do it. I have over 110 houses and I had to go through each one of
them individually to find what items where, I know that kinda blows but it was the only way I could do it. sorry for the non helpful answer

Yes, I have a big house inventory too. What I did was finally get everything sorted and stored away. (Thank you BVG for making that finally possible!) Then I took screenshots of my storage rooms by house. Was a lot of work, but helps me every day when I wonder where stuff is. I understand this is probably more than most would want to do, especially those with giant inventories to work through.

Can't wait to see what BVG has for a solution for us. :)

So Sorry! I think any of us with many homes have this problem if there was no pre lable for description ie: house name... I too have to go house by house if the item is stored in a home & not in boxed inventory. They have the items in use area on the inentory list but that doesn't tell us where... I hope in the future something can be done for this. Meanwhile I just keep searching... good luck! ;)

Hahaha Rod - that happens to me all the time with fashion items. I forget I already purchased stuff and when changing find doubles / triples of the same freaking item (facepalm).

Thanks Janis... I do get that. I even started trying to go thru each one but after the first 20 or so I was like nah - there has to be another way. I am considering paying a willing player a decent amount of coins just to go looking for some specific items for me.

It's frustrating as hell not knowing where stuff is!!

@Casual cat... wow. That is some work and dedication right there.I wish I had the patience for all that. My problem is that even though most houses are labelled per the theme I started using most of the back rooms of each of them as storage so the items in each house does not particularly relate to the theme of that house. I know, I know.... Hindsight is a wonderful thing. lol

@Marby - yeah exactly. Thanks though :)

Storage issues here too! It's a nightmare! I did at least at one time label my houses for which type of storage they were...but for regular homes with a certain something I may be looking for i am out of luck and just have to try racking my brain and then go on a hunt house by house.

100% feel your pain :( I have tried sorting my stuff in storage into houses then naming the house with what's in them, does get bit tricky tho as not much room in house name

Lets just hope BVG find a fix!

I just log in... look around my inventory in edit mode, think of an item and click and see if its there... if its there and available I might use it! If its in use..
Then I log off... sigh...

I can't trace my treasures when I've so many houses... I don;t know how many but it must be upwards of 144 :(

Thanks guys for *getting* my pain / frustration. I see that there is no other way to locate items but go thru each room in each house etc.....

Any one up for a seek and find mission! Lol

its simple- forget that you have furniture, i mean thats what i am doing- just casually ignoring that fact that i have 150+ houses full of stuff that i cant trace/locate.

:P

or go to each of them and what i like to do is after going to them start adding something to their names like "seen"

that ways you tend to remember the next time around a loose image of that house and hence you can narrow down your item to a bunch of houses :)

I spend hours looking through many storage homes for things. My earlier storage homes are not organized at all and filled with all sorts of random stuff. When the releases started get crazy, I started storing by theme so some later stuff isn't as hard to locate. It's a pain without our profiles! Also, I've bought cheaper items when too lazy to search for them LOL

I have the same issue.
One thing I try to make it a little easier is giving the storages houses a name that allows me to at least have an idea of what's in there.
However I haven't stored too much yet,so it's still relatively uncomplicated.

Going house by house is a pain, for sure. Years ago, I started labeling houses such as "wall hangings" and using the house to store those types of items. I have also have these catagories: windows/doors, furniture (I need to change this to living room and then one for bedroom), statues, yard/outside, food, bathroom, and rugs. Whew. I think that is all.
And then of course, I have a few decorated houses with "real" names. But my talent doesn't seem to be decorating; it seems to be hoarding
