Why can I not remove non-playing names from my gifting list? I can remove a non-playing avatar from my "Buddy" list, so why not from my Gift list? What on earth is the point of sending chests/suitcases (and the same ones for YEARS now) to people who are not playing??? I assume this is considered "Marketing" ,but some of these names have not played in over 5 years. So why am I sending them gifts???
Anyone? I'd love an answer to this. Maybe I just don't know how to remove them .... but I don't.

All you need to do to remove players is to X them from your Buddy List. Refresh your game and they should be removed.

Thanks. They do leave my buddy list, but not my gifting list. Oh, I guess you mean I need to log out all together. Ok. I'll try that.

UPDATE:. I refreshed the game. No change at all to the non-players on my gift-send list. I logged out of the game and logged back in. No change at all to the non-players on my gift list. Well. Seems nothing works. If anyone knows a magic trick please do let me know. Thanks.

Did you try clearing your browser cache after you removed them from your buddy list?

Yes. They are gone from the buddy list. It seems to me that the buddy list has NOTHING to do with who appears on the gift list. If I click 'select all' to send gifts/chests everyone who has ever been on my buddy list shows up ... even if the player has not been active in years and years. I must be the only one this happens to!!
