i bidded in an auction, but then someone out bidded me.. will i see the coins that i bid go back to my account after the auction is over?

Yes, you will get your coins back. Ideally, it should be instantaneous, but realistically, it could take 30 minutes or so. It would help if you will perhaps clear cache and refresh.
