Hello, this one is a common thing several people usually tend to ask around here. They see text at the bottom of a players post, or a cool image; and decide that they want that too! Here's a quick and easy tutorial regarding forum signatures! So, What IS a forum signature? I guess in short it's your 'signature'. It is who some people are they use it to express themselves as well as provide links to apartments; or just to put in some wacky text to make people smile. There are several definitions behind the name. But that's it in a nutshell! The first thing we are going to be looking at is 'What do you want as your signature?'. There are SEVERAL and endless amounts of ideas. IT can be anything you like. (Text, color, Pictures, etc..Unfortunately animated pictures aren't allowed via Signatures, though.)
After you have established what you might want in your signature, you have to make sure it is the appropriate size regarding dimensions. You can't have a picture with 1,000 Length and 1,000 width. It would take up the entire page. Therefor there are limitations to make sure that they are a bit smaller and take up little space, but can be seen well.Step One: Open up your "Control Panel" this is basically; more or less; your "Profile" for the forums! You should see the following:To simplify, it is your account statistics. Your number of posts, where you post frequently, your warning level...So on so forth!Step Two: Final Step. Next I'm going to have you click on the following; Profile>Edit Signature. This where the magic happens; You can now input any desired text or picture. But obviously WITHIN ToS! Meaning, No Nudity, vulgar language, or anything depicting those or similar. Extras:
You can also do the following to your signature!
1. Turn off BBC Code (Code allowing you things such as Bold, Font Size, Font Color.)
2. Turn off smilies:
will be a simple : )
3. Do not automatically parse URL's. (Aka, turning a URL into a link)
Don't forget to hit "Submit!" or you may lose your signature!
That is basically it! From then on out all you have to do is put in what you like; Such as pictures, text, etc etc.. Add color, or add a fancy italicization to it! It's pretty limited as of now but hopefully in the near/distant future BVG will update the BBV code and allow us to use new fonts!
