i cannot for the life of me figure out how to collect hat boxes. do you have to pay 10 yo for 10, or is there a way to collect those for free? i bought 10 for 10 yo, but then they just disappear from inventory if opened, so i only opened one. if anyone could explain this in detail, it would be appreciated. i cannot find a single thread about how to use this feature. confused. thanks.

Hey there, ok, I hope this helps.

So, you get 50 points for hat boxes per day when you get a snowball thrown at you, and I think u can get up to 500 points when you gift your friends with free gifts, you can send those every 12 hours.

You then use those points, to buy a TEMPORARY hat box, I am not sure for how long they last, I think its few hours. There are 10 colors of boxes, meaning there are 10 diferent hats you can get. Once you have collected 50 hats from Bumble the snowman, you can then claim a PERMANENT hat that is selected randomly.

ok. so i now understand how to collect the hat boxes, but what do you do once you have some? i opened one and it just disappeared (can't remember now what it said, but i know it said something about removing it from my inventory, or something along those lines). did i delete one? how do you wear them? why is this so confusing? lol.

I give up doing anything with them.
you can wear your hat for only 6 hours. If you refresh before 6 hours is up. poof its gone. Its a big waste of time for me to put on something for 6 hours.

THe bigger picture is if you collect 50 hats you get 1 of them free as a permanent one. You can put your collected hats in a room and the new ones will give you bonus points. I thought I read a viking say when you get a permanent hat all the temp ones POOF out of your inventory and homes you had placed.
SO make sure you use these boxes to level up your homes and do not leave them in your inventory.
So far all this work, I have gotten 1 permanent hat. I dont think it is worth this effort. Its a whole lot of trouble to get snow thrown at you all day long too to get 100 for another chance at a pooffy hat.

Temporary ones u wear for 6 hrs, and as soon as u change outfit or go refresh its gone, and the box u got it from is gone too. I got 50 boxes and collected a permanent one, and I still have the 50 boxes I put around the tree, they wont go anywhere until u open them to use them. But tbh, all this temporary stuff is just a big waste, at least make it to last a day, and make it not dissaper when u refresh, it needs to be done lil diferent than this.

yeah...even when i tried opening the boxes i collected, i never saw anything come out of them? maybe it went to inventory, but i've got too many hats to sift through to try to figure out if there was a new one there, without even knowing what it's called or what it looks like. i ended up collecting well over 50 boxes, but still don't even know if i got a permanent one or not. there was not a pop- up to tell you what came from the damn boxes! jeez. it's a cute idea, but should certainly not be so friggin' complicated. maybe i'm just stupid. lol. but i don't think i am. haha! so to sum this up, i opened more than 50 boxes, never saw a temporary one, and have no idea if i have a permanent one or what it's called if i do. there has to be an easier system to keep track of our items. perhaps listing them in chronological order in our inventories, instead of just wtf ever, would be more helpful. it would help me, no doubt. and i mean with all items, not just these hats. i can't find anything in my inventory anymore. i have forgotten the names of all these items over the years, and if you don't know exactly what the item is called, you're screwed or have to go search for it on yorehab. if items could be listed in inventory by categories (themes) or chronologically, it would be super helpful!! i have 8 years of items to sift through! it's ridonkulous. :P

once you collect 50 then you get a permanent one.
I to bought the 10 yocash ones quite a few times as it was NOT clear if they were permanent or not. I was for sure the ones you bought in yo cash were permanent.
what a rip off. the least they can do is explain it and let it be properly labeled.
