Hi Wicked, I like to use photo shop, and Illustrator to do them. Some times they are a variation of both of them. I do them mainly myself. I layer them.
I am sure texts can be found on the internet and all internet graphics even if it says free has a kind of cookie link back to themselves. So for me I like to do them myself.
There are a gazillion in PS and about as many in Illustrator programs. The text they supply can be enhanced.

I think some people use Inkscape? that might be free, not sure. It's very hard to get a free copy of Photoshop online without risking getting a virus etc.

no I actually do not know of a good free one. It seems the free ones get all the credit. The online free give a lot of adds and actually tag back even though they say 'free" they are not free. They lag your comp. I hate free ware. I used to use free ware a lot but it lags the comp and causes a lot of problems later. Many of them are in test phase. I like to buy a small program and work with that instead of getting a free ware. I prefer to buy one than using an online one.
