Hello and welcome to the forums.
The quickest way is to go to buddy list and click on the "X" on the right side of name.
If the person is giving you a problem clicking the X is not the best way because any simple name change and change of clothes can add them again to you and you have the same problem only a new name or gender. SO the best way for me to do it effeciently is to "block."
If you block the person then they auto fall off your buddy list. Sometimes they are ghosts for a while.

NOW, if you cant block because they are not online you can block by going to the LOG and seeing when you gifted them and block with this feature. It also gives you an option to say if you want to report them.

NO.. if this person is a fb neighbor this makes it a little harder..
removing them off your buddy list will not remove these folks off your game. Some of my players stopped playing, deceased, another person appeared to have the account and in this kinds of extremes your one and only safe solution is to block in fb. It takes a full 72 hours to block in fb for it to take an effect in the game.
SO in order to block in fb you just go on their timeline and block them..
Then you go back to your game and make a list "OLD Neighbors." you move these people in this list because once the fb name is off a buddy name is there in this place and in order for you to know you blocked them you must make a list in your buddy list .. if they are giving you problems on fb. it is very very very hard to ghost them..

you have to block later after they fb names fall off after the 72 hours and block again in game.. Its a huge darn hassle.. It really is.

I do not know why fb or this game never made any kind of provisions for gaming players where auto a 'fake name' is shown to all gaming players, Every single one, because after all they are strangers.
