Is there a way to remove facebook friends that haven't played the game in 3 plus years from my buddy list without having to actually unfriend them on facebook?

HI if you hoover your cursor by the name, you get a an X this will remove the person. You can also try dont show facebook names in your buddy list settings.

I do not receive the "x" when hovering over FB names and it seems to make no difference when I turn off the "display FB names" feature. To make things more complicated, some of these people have apparently left FB and no longer have that account active but they still show on my buddy list. Since they have no FB account under that name any longer, I cannot "unfriend" them in FB so they continue taking up a slot o my Buddy List since that seems the only way that I can remove them. Does anyone have a workaround?

When you look at your buddy list and hover your cursor over a name beside the word join there is an "x' click that it gives you the option to remove.

It is difficult but you seem smart to me by how you describe this problem.
There are lots of ways but if you want a Permanent solution or if you want a little bit of one like getting the person off your fb feeds or if you want them partially off fb but not off in the game.
the permanent way is this.
!/ Make a list in your buddy list .. call it former FB people drag the ones you want to take off your fb list into here. After you do that .. go to step 2.
2. to perm delete go to the persons name on fb and block the person. .. You must wait 48 hours for it to take effect. the person in your list you dragged there will now be a buddy and you can now do 1 of 2 things when they are a buddy. 1. block them when the buddy is online. or 2 delete them by clicking the x.

3. to take off your fb but leave in game simply UNFRIEND in fb. You can also restrict them in fb and then unfriend them.. Restrict to me does not work well enough. especially if you ended up getting people with more than one name, the notorious ALTS of which i abhor, hate and wish I never added as they drive me insane and make me think I am a cat.

PLEASE do not add strangers to your account. ONly add real live friends and family. It has to be a very special kind of person to add and not know. really.

I wish this wasn't tied to FB. Some friends just stopped playing and I'm still friends with them on FB.

if you click settings > account settings > scroll all the way to the bottom then click refresh cache (on the friends cache part) it should update it so that people not on your fb are removable

Also not sure if its of note but my mum's account which has been inactive since she passed away (a little over 2 years ago) is no longer on my friends list for yoworld so they may vanish on their own after a certain amount of time?
