Who knows how long the cryogenic housing lasted. before units began to fail.
Before the eating had begun.
Before the echoes of fear resounded in our fleets, desperation as one by one the pods broke off in an attempt to find some habitable planet before the fuels of life ran out.
Here on fringe of the constellation Cygnus looms the inevitable eternal pull of Cygnus x-1
The black hole which will collapse all matter for a million light years. Stretching time itself until all is swallowed in a final slip into universal oblivion.
We survive in that time between, here on the cusp of twilight.
My pod landed on Delphi 3 and it is here mankind will face his final fight The machine armies of Daxtil There is only the lost dregs of humanity and machine.All our efforts leave me here at the ancient sand arches where the shadows hang before me, in the tombs of Alnor Orgath.
The smell of used oil and a greasy smoke sting my human eyes and stop the tears of complete desperation as i gaze down the last avenue of man. I stand alone now against the Empire of metal and pain. Any single organic sound will call out the watchers and begin the final battle . I take a breath and pound my staff onto the iron floor with a loud dull thud that echoes down the gullet of a thousand dead civilizations
Its not about rising from the ashes to re create civilization. Here were all past civilizations have come forward to be crushed sucked into antiquity feeding the void that swallows the universe...
