Thanks for the compliment on the hotel!...I know how the "unfinished" homes thing is...I do have a few myself....I don't fret about it though...whenever there's a theme I'm not very interested in or if I've completed it and it's still going on, if I feel the inspiration to, I go back and work on the unfinished rooms of homes. Sometimes the creativity comes in clearer than it did when the theme was active. I suddenly know what I'm going to do with the room where before I didn't have a clue or everything I thought of doing just didn't quite get it with me. :haha: (I feel good if I think "oh! I like that!" -when I complete a room! If a room doesn't "end" that way, it's not done. :?: )

I try to keep my decorating "down to earth" and realistic most of the time...but sometimes I do get a little abstract...
Here's a First Avenue I used to connect up my FairyLand District, my Airship/H2O Dock, a fantasy land "park" (another First Ave.) and the "Near East".

And another ... semi-abstract avenue, made using the sandy beach avenue that has a bit of water in the corner. This avenue connects my Sweet Candyland District to my Yo Water Park.

I had a lot of fun doing the Secret Garden theme...I got into the mood of it by starting out in my old Medieval Fantasy coin home's campground...which I had turned into a garden site. So I revised a little bit in the garden and added a transport arrow on the top middle to go to the Secret Garden Pond and an arrow at the bottom right to go to what I call the Potholes Path. I didn't think I wanted to buy the treehouse home because, nothing seemed "special" about it to me...and it only had 2 rooms ...which I think is not enough to pay YC for. I checked out all the other treehouses that we have available and I really didn't want to pay that much for a repeat treehouse. So I thought I'd just do the avenues and call this theme good.
Here's my medieval starting point..

By the time I finished those 2 avenues, I decided I'd build my own treehouse using a trailer home.

Thought I'd share my Cape Cod Home. Just finished it the other day. I chose to use a Thatched Irish Cottage for my Cape Cod home, and had to reface it cuz after all there aren't too many thatched roofed homes in Massachusetts. Ran into problems doing that because not too much will cover the thatched roof and the posts used in that home, most wall tiles go behind the posts. I found that the wooden platform from the Road Trip theme covered them good. I also wanted that home because I could turn the Leprechaun's tunnel and cave into a back yard and garden. I was going to buy the gazebo to place in the yard (tunnel) but when I went to purchase it wasn't in the store....oh well, their loss. I keep telling them if they'd leave stuff in the store at least for the theme's duration, they'd sell a lot more of the items! smh I used my Beverly Hills Gazebo I had in inventory. Was going to use the cave for the trail down the cliffside to the beach, but ended up making an extension to the yard. I bought a cliff avenue to use for the trail down to the beach. I bought a Cape Cod beach avenue, but the water was way too blue for Cape Cod and you can't even go into that water...it's a walk on the water beach. I don't understand beaches that our avi's don't go into the water! I had another beach I wasn't using and the water wasn't bright blue so I used that to attach to my cliff trail down.
