Hello!

I was thinking bout making a thread about the german heavy metal band Rammstein since days ago.

Its more out of curiosity, to know what is your opinion about the band, their music, grotesque videos, their censored and controversy lyrics and their amazingly insane concert shows full with fire and pyrotechnics. Also if there are yo forumers from Germany here, what you think about it, if it is good or bad there.

I asked once a german friend and she told me Rammstein is old. Even is old band, and even i dont understand the lyrics, theres something bout their music and the voice of the lead vocalist, Till Lindemann, that is very kind of attractive and sedative to my brain lol (sounds weird but its true ).

I'm 63 and like some of their songs, they have a unique sound. When my daughter was 14, she snuck off to one of their concerts in Portland ME, she's also a fan. It's funny now but not at the time.

Yess! Thats it, could not say it better, they have a very unique sound

I was born in and have lived in Germany all my life. The band definitely has been around for quite a while. Not all of their songs may be my personal cup of tea, but as a person who doesn't easily feel offended, neither their lyrics, videos nor life performance shock me.

Same! I dont like all theirs songs (or videos), and confess some videos shocked me when I first saw them.
My fav are "Sonne" and "Rosenrot". I just find out researching on google, that many of their songs have a double meaning (like "Du Hast") and like im not german speaker or understand the language, I just can get a lyric translation and have an idea from there, even sometimes it doesnt have a meaning at all for me.
Too bad we cannot understand all the music just like that! like I hear it and Tills voice, would be super interesting understand Rammstein in its original language.
