I had a DS lite as a kid and I was absolutely in love with it but my sister broke it and my parents didn't have the money to buy me a new one. Now I'm working and have my own money and you can find Nintendo products in great condition on eBay for super cheap so I wanted to buy myself a new one. I'm currently bidding on one now. Are there any games you can guys can recommend for me? I know for sure that I want to get Pokémon Platinum because that was my absolute favorite as a kid.

As for recommendations... Pokemon Platinum is great, haaa. Pokemon Black & White are good games, too. Any Mario or Zelda games are bound to be fun. Animal Crossing. Yoshi's Island. I can't remember a lot of the games from the DS eras but those were some of my favorites.

I also heard it's getting remade for the Switch and is supposed to come out sometime this November. I haven't played black and white but I heard those games were great. I do love Mario. Yes! Nintendos are some of the last consoles created that don't give me motion sickness.

I have an old Super Nintendo that needs work but used to absolutely love Zelda, Marios 1-3, Donkey Kong Country... I'm sure I'm missing more.

I've thought seriously about getting a Switch because they're likely about as expensive as me getting the old Nintendo refurbished and look to have a lot of these older games on them. They make the older controllers too.

I loved my Nintendo back in the 90s I just had few games: Mario, which came with the Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda and another one bout Link. Used to play a lot with it, cool memories

Ok but same. I get simulation sickness when playing FPS or anything that has the character close up in view.

It sucks. I would definitely recommend getting a Switch!

Oh, I'm sorry. Simulation sickness isn't fun either. It's a lot worse. I finally bit the bullet and bought another functional, used SNES this morning after reading through this thread. I've been talking about having a throwback Saturday or Sunday morning for a really long time. So, now I need to buy some cereal, play some games and have one.

That sounds fun!!! This thread actually made me want to buy some older systems, too. N64 and SNES mostly. I was hoping they'd bring Majora's Mask to the Switch but they haven't yet.. which is my main reason for wanting the N64.

I WON MY BID! I'm kind of sad because I really wanted the Ice Blue color but got outbid at the very last second. I managed to find a different listing from the same Japanese seller for a polar white console. It comes with the original box, manual, charger, and stylus and the console is very clean and in good condition. I'm just excited to finally have one. And if I manage to find a blue one somewhere than I'll just get it and sell my white one. I'm just excited to finally get one!

Yes I have! One of them was Pokémon Platinum(I managed to find an authentic one) but it ended up selling for close to $120. I can't justify paying that much quite yet. I'm going to try the retro game stores in my area first and see if I can hopefully find one there.
