After refusing to watch GOT until it was complete, I have just finished season 7 for my very first run through it. Holy balls this show has been everything the hype has portrayed it to be. No wonder people were freaking out about how awesome it was and still is. It is the manliest soap opera ever. I know it supposedly ends badly, but idc. The ride is great and the storylines are just pure entertainment.

TO THE END!!!!!!!!! :haha:

Yup, it got me hooked watching a season a day :D

The end was rushed imo, could have been better prepared for such an extreme twist in a character. No more spoilers from me :quiet:

Enjoy it to the end :)

It's one of the best shows I've ever watched! Wait until you start season 8 :(

See, seasons 1-6 and even 7 are great, mainly because the show writers have the dialogue right in the books. The show's main attraction for me was the rich dialogue. I feel that 8 had no books to go off of, and therefore the dialogue suffered, not to mention it was just rushed and sloppy overall.

Originally I did not want to watch the show because shows that are hyped up like crazy often turn out disappointing to me personally.
After recovering from a surgery and having to stay home from work for 4 weeks, and having caught up on all shows I was into at the time, I figured I may as well give GOT a chance, telling myself I could stop at any time if I did not like it after all. Well, and then I got hooked after the first episode, both despite and because of all the implications and complicated connections I did not understand yet but was curious about.
Some who watched it were really devasted throughout the final season. While I also wished for a different ending and for thorough quality in writing and dialogue that the previous seasons had come with, some of the things that happened in season 8 still at least logically made sense to me, even if not what I would have wanted.

I was like this with Lost. I only finally watched it about 2 years ago when I was down with the flu.

Game of Thrones is another level though, super glad to hear people are still watching and enjoying the show. One day I'll watch them all over again and probably still be in awe of it all just as you are.

I too did not love season 8 but a lot of what they accomplished did make some sense. There are just about 2-3 storylines I wasn't happy with towards the last half of that season. Still worth watching and obviously worth talking about!

Enjoy!

I haven't watched the last season, but it was great.

I just don't want to see everyone die lol.

Best show ever! Even some of the characters that are not considered main characters are just awesome. I wish we could of got more story lines to a few though. The hound( we did get more of him than the others I mentioned but I wanted more I loved the Hound), Lady Mormont (Bella Ramsey in her first acting role did an excellent job for the few times we see her), Tormund, and even Melisandre. I so wanted to know more about each of these characters and feel somewhat cheated that we did not get more of them on the screen. You should read the series A Song of Ice and Fire if you have not yet. Well all but the last 2 books that have not been completed yet. I think last I read book six is close. I have not read all of them yet but making my way through them and they sure don't disappoint. The books are always better to me. I can't wait to see the ending Martin gives us in the books. I do not want to spoil anything for the last season of the show but will say it was not as awful to me as some say it is in my opinion. It did feel a bit rushed. I mean some things I felt left you still wondering and makes you want to know more and even a bit sad for it not to continue on but the ending made sense for the most part. Is it the happy ending most people might of wanted no and yes? Is there somethings you would like to see different of course but is that not the case with the ending to anything? Now I am ready and waiting on House of Dragon! :D

I've never seen Game of Thrones. I've heard great things(about the first 7 seasons) but I've refused to watch it because I've heard that characters constantly get killed off. I get attached to characters and if my favorite character ended up dying then I would be too disappointed to continue it. :haha:

I'd estimate that 90% of every character with lines gets killed at some point. The list of those who survive the journey is quite short. LOL

But I will say this - the people who didn't like how it ended were wrong. It ended just fine. It's not Disney. It's not Nightmare On Elm Street. It ended with just the right amount of drama for my tastes.

The ending isn't necessarily bad, the setup for it was just rushed imo!
