The gorier/scarier the better will sell to more then say plain old school bats and pumpkins. You do not want to buy gory, that is your option but if BVG wants YC sells to go through the roof this year they will release the scary zombie styled stuff because last year was horrible and the majority do not want cute Halloween stuff.. everyone wants gore.

When i was in my teens i was so obsessed with gloomy bear... it would leave my pockets empty...hahaha i had plushies a backpack shirts...the works i loved this bear

Anyway, i feel Halloween is supposed to be creepy. I like the gory decos. That being said, I like the cutesy Halloween decos like smiling jack-o-lanterns, too. It is difficult for a gaming company to come out with a theme ,that the entire player base will like.
In most cases it's so that some feel more drawn to a theme and others less.
And they release various themes to make sure to cover all kinds of areas,so that everyone is able to find something they like.
