so, these players that constantly do this... they are the wishlisters? ... sounds like something you say when you have had a few too many...

This used to be much much worse on the Z forums before the signature size rule went into effect.

People over there used to have signatures of their wishlists that would include literally every expensive item in the game with some of them classified as OMG I would die for this items.

These signatures would literally take up what now amounts to like 10 posts and was a huge hassle to scroll passed.

The real problem is when they come into discussions, and say something like "I have been looking forever and cannot find this item" I think they are actually hope for negative comments so that one person will rush in to make them feel better nearly every time. I know some will hate this comment and I am stepping on toes but it is true, a lot of people no the art of guilt tripping some unsuspecting angel to get a freebie. I am ok with wishlists in siggies.. beggars not so much.

I wish we could call them out, but that would only get us into trouble in the forums. Or your words get twisted and turned into something ya didn't say and next thing ya know, there's a thread up somewhere calling you a b****head for saying something you never said at all lol.. I'm talking from experience here.. I'm not bitter or anything lol.

I agree. People are not allowed to call them out. So it continues. :|

On the Z forums I would call these people out constantly because I didn't care if they gave me a warning or a few points or a couple days off from the forum.

Now with our forum bannings also have a bearing on in game bans, I won't be going there but I still make mental notes and point out these things privately to those I know.

My worry was never the backlash other posters would give me, as long as I saved one decent real person from getting by someone's scamming, it was well worth it. :D

This feels way worse to me. They are manipulating the kind people. Like I said though, you can talk about items without doing the indirect begging thing. Sometimes people talk about an item they are looking for without adding in the guilt trip, but when you see the same ones doing it over and over again, it is so obvious what they are doing.

As long as we don't ever see another person come in here playing the "i have cancer and am dying so gift me things so I feel better" card, it won't be worse. I mean, it seriously can't be worse.

If that happens again, I might end up banned.

Yes, I've seen this too.
Seems they've managed to work that sympathy angle very well. They know it will work...and just about every time, it does.

Never had a wishlist, never donated to anyone with a big wishlist.

It's easy to spot the ones who prey on other's sympathy & generosity, hard to keep from calling them out.

Even when you do call attention to the situation you get crap from both parties involved. I've given up on the whole thing now... more power to them.
