LOL She is a sweet little girl that see's good in everything. My favorite movie is the original with Hayley Mills and that little orphan boy.. Pollyanna is a cheerful, radically optimistic youngster who focuses on the goodness of life and, in doing so, makes a wide variety of friends in the community including the hypochondriac Mrs. Snow (Agnes Moorehead) and the acidic recluse Mr. Pendergast

I tried to be Pollyanna when I was young... but I couldn't find a crystal that would make enough rainbows to make Auld Granny smile...

While I agree that there are way better things to focus on in life than the negative, I still have a hard time putting on those Rose Colored Glasses. My sister's a Pollyanna...always wearing those shades, and I see how hard a time she has dealing with life.
I'm a realist and see things for what they are...good and bad.
I'll have to try the whole post 3 positive things a day for a few days. I've seen my FB friends doing it and thought I should too. There are just some days, it's hard to find even 3 things. lol

If you like Pollyanna you might check out Summer Magic.

My face hurt at times with the constant smiling.... but I got there...
I'm a realist too. Some of my positives were a little contrived,, but I did my best.
That's all we can do in the end..

I read that book when I was a kid. I remember the part where she wished for a doll as a gift but when she opened the box she got a pair of crutches and she was GLAD she didn't actually need them. So she was so happy. LOL oh well... Pollyanna is an idiot little girl who is happy about everything. Kill her and she will be so happy and pleased that you didn't torture her before killing.

Just kidding. It's a nice naive story to teach kids looking things on the bright side.

The Power Of Positive Posting

I've found that when I focus on problems, there are more problems. When I focus on what is ok, there are less issues. I don't know what the mind trick is that does this or why we are programmed this way, but it works like a mofo. It is the same way in life. I find people who look for the good, usually enjoy their lives way more than those who see all that is wrong. And often times they are facing the exact same challenges. ;)

We do have Pollyannas on the forum. I prefer people with a more realistic attitude, And Veronica, you described her perfectly.

Those with a realistic attitude focus on transformation. Memento More.

An old movie starring Hayley Mills. She played an orphan who had to go live with a cranky old aunt (I think). But her charming, winsome, positive ways changed the entire town.

Pollyana from the disney book?

I'm "glad" I survived Auld Granny. A ;) nd I'm "glad" I have a sense of humour - and most of all - I'm "glad" I have the maturity, believe it or not, to dislike bait.

Really? I consider your remark a personal attack that has nothing to do with this thread. Just letting you know.

You are perfect the way you are. <3 Honestly though, I know what people are capable of, but still try to see the good. There has to be some good, right? I would much rather be like that and possibly be hurt because of it, than just plain ole mean. That has to be a hard way to live.
