I would like to speak on this a little if I can. I am not exactly a "new player", I played in 09/10 and was gone until just before the transfer. I had 13k (lol I know) when I returned. I didn't have much to sell since many items were missing, however, I considered myself lucky to have an acct. at all after so much time. It has been hard to raise money, as sometimes my jobs don't work and no one will do the old game thing anymore. I am doing ok though. I've "tried" pageants and other things to get a little at a time and it has helped a lot. Some very nice yos have donated some items to me and I appreciate every single thing. I do not beg and I don't like it when others do. I don't expect to have the same as others who have played for so long and invested a lot into the game. nor should I. BVG has stated they will be working on new ways to earn coins, so I am hopeful that will help newer players as well! Part of the fun of the game is working your way up…so I am happy with that. <3

Forgot to add also, when I was playing. Yc dealers got no where selling 1.5 k to 1 - now look at it. Its no wonder its daunting to some.

When I was new, no one helped me.

And I remember thinking 20k sunglasses were unobtainable when I was only getting 220c at the factory.

I imagine most true new players could care less about rares or being "rich".. they are most likely the same as we were when new. they are looking for normal things to decorate their apartment with.

It's the older players merely pretending to be new on alt accounts that whine and beg for stuff. this is also what gives new players a bad rep. but the majority of experianced players can see right through the fakes most the time.

I mean cmon. a new player knowing the name of every old rare and collectible? not that likely.

Newbies have it soo easy now.. the max we could earn @ factory was 250 per login.. with max crew and hotdogs, they can earn 1800 coins at login.. 3600 coins a day if they only do 2 logins.. we would have earned 500 in the same time frame..then they get max4max .. photo loops, chests and free gifts once those are back on track.. They still have the newbie items in store that we could buy with with are 250 coins.. and they have loads more coins.. We started with really bad starter furnishings..they get items I had to pay yocash for..

The game is a reflection of life really in that those who don't want to work try to get the same things as those who put in the time and effort. I understand begging if you don't have food to eat but there is absolutely no reason to beg on the game.. when we give the beggars items it rewards bad behavior so they keep doing it.

If you want to help newer players.. do what I do.. go to events where they are selling items for 100 coins and give them some of your unwanted items to sell or buy their items and toss in extra coins. Help those who are trying to help themselves.. don't help the ones who want to sponge off others..

Most of the beggars aren't poor check out their badges..The smarter ones just make a begging account.. Last night a newbie had an event.. but he didn't want napa items lolll

Newbies can go to the cheapy events.. buy items for 100 coins and then have an event selling them for 200 or more coins.. there are ways to earn if they want too.. its part of the process..

True that Borg!!! Can you imagine what it's going to be like once BVG starts releasing a new theme? Oh Lord!

Still... every Yo has the same opportunities as we have always had. They are not going to "Get rich" without buying Yocash and selling, or the ol' 'Buy low... Sell high' way of doing things. People who have millions... have done so by doing these 2 things. (unless they cheated of course lol)

I like to help new players. YoWorld has changed over time, unlike 2008, 09, 10, things in stores are not as cheap as they used to be, so they must now work twice as hard than we did. I think we had it easy.

Now think of it, starting just the way we did years ago, in this YoEconomy. Sure we have more ways of earning coins, but are they really worth it?

Jobs, now a days you can get paid more at the factory, saves lots of time, and provides more coins, so why even worry about jobs? Sure they can work at the factory, but how long will it take them to get all of those neighbors, so that they can get a good salary? Now, remember when we all got paid 200 coins at the factory, and it was actually something? Well what's 200 coins gonna buy you today?

The mini games we have in YoWorld, (Tic-tac-toe, Fishing, Motor Racing, rock-paper-scissors), and the most they all give you are 10 coins, now what is the point of all that?

As much as some may disagree, I think that there are a few new players that could use a little sort of boost.

I will agree though back in the day we could get cheap items from themes like Zen, Cabin, Suburban, Egyptian - which are now gone. Those themes should have never been discontinued as they were a means for new players to get cheap and decent furniture.

Hook the new player early and they're likely to stick around to try and get even better stuff.

Make it so said new player can only get ratty leather couches from Trailer Park or that ugly oversized Mission crap and they're less likely to want to stick around.

There needs to be some cheap themes released to re-hook the new player. I would say re-release Zen, Cabin, Suburban, Egyptian but I don't wanna turn this into that debate so just some new cheap themes is good.

The thing is, when you are new, you cant expect to have the extras. If you really want to play the game, you work and work until you can buy a new lamp or a piece of furniture. You change your apartment based on new themes until you can afford a house. New people now want things that are out of reach and were out of reach when i was new. you cant come in a game and expect to play with an even playing field to those who have been in the game for years. I hear so many it's not fair things and of course it is fair. We saved up or paid up to get where we are. If you get a full factory crew(assuming the coins are actually working, i dont know) you get a few thousand coins a day. Its harder, but its not impossible. Patience is a must in Yoworld and if you just spend some time earning coins without spending, you can start to build up your invo.

I think you are right. The amount of choice for entry level players is dismal.

I think if you are going to re-release those themes then you have to be open to having Halloween 08 and some other themes released again.
Some people might value those Zen/Egyptian the same way some value their 08's. It would only be unfair on some to only bring back the coin themes. Pretty sure the original Halloween was coins too ;)

New cheap themes would be the way to go for new players.
