For the other half, it is about fun, buying what you like, decorating & dressing up without worrying about chasing stuff, without worrying about the prices of the stuff. These are 2 different types of gameplay, 2 opposite states of mind. It is hard to make both happy... And with the Zynga's way, the second half has ALWAYS been unhappy.

By your responses, you seem to give the idea you think that's the more noble way to play, than playing to obtain items simply to show off, as you somewhat disparagingly put it. Both are valid forms of gameplay. And I don't agree they were unnatural either. Expiring themes have been a part of this game a long time, since the beginning. We all know it was a cash grab, it doesn't change the fact that they had timers on them the second time around, which is a normal part of gameplay for this game.

well, that's kinda weird cause I am in the second half and I was not always unhappy. perhaps you should speak only for yourself and not others miss.
edit to add, all i hoard is halloween but i voted for them not to unlock expired items. which BVG already stated they would never do anyways.

It is not about me. it is about the game, about the community. I just made the thread. That's all. So don't attack me if you disagree because I am not attacking anyone. I respect everybody's opinion and expectig the same.

In it could be the building blocks of solid decorating and like zynga started to do, some of the better decorating items from themes that may expire. That way everyone is happy. I have said before, and I stand by it, creative designers find ways to get around not having items. I have seen the most beautiful rooms come from freebies and other things i may have thought of as rubbish! this way the decorators have what they want, which from what I gather is a dependable supply of decorating items and the collectors have items that have a chance to appreciate in value. Not everyone likes to collect collectibles. It gets boring knowing everyone is after the same collection! everyone wins!

I would love to see a section for decorators......basic items that will always be there.

This would be a great compromise.
If all items were left in stores and never expired, how would non YC buyers earn the coins to pay dealers for YC items? They would not have anything much they could sell to others to make these coins and it would be hard to earn enough via all the other in game methods of earning coins, I'm sure. This does not affect me cause I buy my own when I need it, but it would affect the non YC buyers, I'd think.
