Yes, Zynga really did a number on the players with the re-releases and then shutting down the game. They created a situation which caused a rift in the community that is still evident today.

I'm pretty sure that BVG will take into account the players opinions. They are pretty clear about collectibles and 08/09 costumes so a lot of items are safe.
There are only a few items that remain shrouded in mystery like the celtic cross and the unreleased items. There is a picture floating around in a thread somewhere that shows the unreleased items, but for the most part legitimate items are totally safe I'm sure your rares are safe unless you have some unreleased items.

I agree. The cross was released for about an hour and then removed, thus not allowing a fair chance for most people to buy it. Any other three day or one day themes were official releases for specific holidays. We won't see them re-released as we were all aware these themes were coming into Yo as Zynga did give notice beforehand. That notice constitutes a 'fair chance' for players who played Yo at the said time.

Players knew a release was happening that day when the cross was released. It wasn't just placed in the store alone and then removed. All players had a chance to buy it...albeit for a short time. What if on the one day release not all players could log on? Maybe they were out of town, or their internet was down, etc. Did they have a "fair chance" to buy?

The Menorah Hat wasn't officially released in the STORES...it was ONLY available on yo.com
