If you like it great, but not a good idea to leave on someone else's page unless they tell you they enjoy it. I am going through this atm here in RL and it is stressful AF. My husband passed away last Sunday, people keep saying the whole praying for you BS along with all the normal Jesus stuff and it is hurting me more than helping. So, please don't judge people who don't want to hear it and tell them to just ignore it. Some times you can't. No one should not have to put up with someone else's idea of a good time in their own house, even if it is a Yo house!

Oh no, I am truly sorry for your loss. I wish you peace of heart and mind.

IMO, what it comes down to is a profound lack of manners by ignoring social norms. This kind of unsolicited proselytizing is disrespectful, rude, intrusive, and is a violation of personal boundaries.

I find it incredibly egocentric that religious minded people really believe they have a right to co-opt others time with their personal agenda.

It's one thing to host events inviting players to join you. To form clubs of like-minded people. Wonderful, have at it.

Just don't invade my space. I find it absolutely infuriating that anyone who knowingly (and really, how can you not know by now?) follows and pushes any religion that has a history of scandal, exploitation, or hypocrisy come into my house and leave cherry-picked passages in an attempt to convert or "spread the good word."

Ask first. Don't assume. Don't be rude. Be respectful. Be self aware. Mostly importantly, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

This last community challenge I gifted people Christian Art paint boards, I just figured if they did not like the images they could delete them and still have a paint board for free.

I personally have never left Bible verses in peoples message boxes. Instead I host Bible Trivia on the game, and free Paint Board Christian Art events.

wow you can gift me Christian art boards any time what a wonderful gift . all mine were destroyed by bvg . that i paid a lot of money for . also i dont think people relize how many churches there are in yo . the day they take them i leave . I will say if someone tells you to stop sending bible verses it should stop not continue . that i do agree with

Cobalt, I like the meme. I was actually a Mormon for a short time during my childhood and I'm very familiar with the missionaries going door to door.

Skylander, I'm so sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself and ask for help when you need it. I hope that you have a strong support system to help you through things.

While I don't personally believe in organized religion for myself, I do like seeing the religious based events in the groups b/c I know that some Yo players may not get out much and may not be able to attend a church on a regular basis or have a large circle of friends with the same beliefs and they can find this in Yo. I like that, for them.

This person was not on my buddy list, I had never interacted with them before. I asked them to stop posting messages, they responded with no, they would not be able to remember who had asked them to stop and who liked the messages since they posted them randomly and often.

I feel that this thread has been respectful, but I will ask the mods to close it now.

Wow, that person must be out of their mind! She/he is spamming other players, even those not on their buddy list. You can click the Report button at the top right of the message, and select "Report and Block." You can select "Spam" as the reason for the Report.

Some people might think that that those messages are just words that can be easily deleted, but words are mightier than the sword and can cause stress, discomfort, and create unhealthy cognitive dissonance by just reading them. I am glad you decided to make a thread about this, and hopefully you can find peace playing the game.

I really don't think that as a rule, people should leave messages for non-Buddies. If I don't know you, why are you dropping in? The only times I have ever done it is when I know something that I think the other person would also want to know. My best [and saddest] example is when a mutual Buddy has died & I figure out that the other person doesn't know. I had a good friend die in May & I left messages for several of her Buddies who were still leaving messages wishing her a nice day. They appreciated being informed.

And, no, I'm not a fan of people leaving religious messages, either, especially if I don't know them. I'm religious, but I don't push it on others. But at least it's not someone begging for hairs. They get reported immediately.

Ugh Mormons. So, one morning, several years ago, I was out front trimming cactus arms with my machete. Casually hacking them into smaller pieces for easier removal.

I noticed a couple of Mormon fellas several houses down from mine knocking and doors and chatting to my neighbors. Just after they got yet another door closed in their faces, they head over to the next house. Mine. They look up and see me waving Hello with my machete in hand and a smile on my face.

They quickly cross the street to take their BS somewhere else and I got back to work with a chuckle and a smile.

They haven't been back since. :haha: :haha: :haha:

If you're going to put religion into political category, then pride month and anything that goes with it shouldn't be posted either, that can be in political category too.
