I find them both helpful. As someone says, they're a guide, not an absolute. If an item hasn't been for sale much in AH, I can usually get somewhat more than either guide says.

I have to live by the don't like it don't use it on this one.

My item my price.
Granted I use price guides to guide me towards a reasonable price which is what they were designed for.

Though it seems some people take it as law.

If there was no guide(s), prices would be all over the place.. :? The guides atleast give people understanding of what the prices start off at (or around at).

that is incorrect...guides areone of the reasons the prices got so crazy in the 1st place......pricejackers got together and made fake events pretending to buy from each other and the priceguide agents were naive enough to fall for it. the first item used for it that i saw was blue retros i believe..i am talking years ago.
before the guides, people tried it but buyers ignored them and laughed at them and a few days later, prices were back to normal....but when the guides started and updated the prices according to these fake sales....that became the new prices. priceguide agents will deny this happened obviously but many older forumers saw it all unfold with their own eyes.

If we had one price guide that would give that site a lot of power over prices.
Anyone can make a price guide, the are not BVG. It never hurts to look at more than one.
It's just to guide ppl. Sell for whatever you want.

all guides are . scam.. simple.. how can they determine the price of anything?????? seriously! .. they can claim they go by 'the average' selling price.. well.. how do they get info on EVERY sale, or even 60%??? I have never trusted a price guide, and never will.. how can they have ANY idea what an item is worth, especially now! things have changed, and there has been no time to make adjustments,

An 'official' guide produced by Big Viking Games would, indeed, be an interesting concept. :)

However, Greg Thomson has already made it clear that the Vikings do not have the time, financial resources, or inclination to create such a guide so I guess we will never know.
