Bolded. Those are your opinions, for one. Not truths for all, and not true in general. What gives you the proof/idea that themes were never supposed to be removed? ? ? Where on earth was that ever true. lol. and You seem to think the ones who get upset are the ones who want to get rich. I would not see it wise to generalize people like that, because that is certainly not true for everybody and it is a bit insulting to hear that you think anybody who doesn't agree with you some how has some kind of bad trait. Not cool Amber. and flat out not true for all. :/ I have already said that not everybody wants to decorate for an aesthetic/cosmetic purpose, hence why people would rather keep the items they earned the way they are! Not hard to understand.
Well the only arguments I see on your side of the debate is that people would lose money, lose trust which is ridiculous seeing as right now BVG is losing money, and are trying to turn items which are not collectibles into collectibles and mad because they decided to take the risk and may have to pay for it.

If items get rereleased, I wouldn't spend nearly as much on yocash because I could get most of everything I need from the store. Once, I get everything that I want so easily, there isn't much more to spend on other than new things. So in essence, BVG wouldn't get nearly as much from a player like me.

Before all of this mess started, trading went just fine. People still went to sales, and still did trades. Nothing would change with that. That was in place since the game started. Also, collectors don't always have to just collect collectibles but to insist on getting mad over losing money on something that you took the risk on because it was never a collectible in the first place is crazy. There are not many collectors that I know get rid of the collections that they have worked hard at. Some may, but not many.
Fair enough, but I don't hate the hunt. That just goes to show that we all play differently. Trading has always gone fine because there has always been themes that were closed out, which gave people things to look for. I am a decorator. I also collect things. I am not sure where you are getting that I said anything about being mad about losing money. I am not upset about anything at all. I was simply expressing a different style of game play.
As far as taking risks, before last summer, other than a few 08 costumes being re-released in 09, when did they put themes back in the store? It is how the game was always played. I saw you want all themes opened up except holidays, well then, as someone whose favorite theme in this game is Halloween (all years) how would that be fair to me, that everyone else gets their favorite theme back, but I don't?
BVG has stated that if people had a chance to buy a theme that was officially released, they would not be re-releasing them. If they were to go back on that statement, I would be upset. Not over the pixels, mind you, but because it would be deja vu all over again. Trust matters. While BVG might not run their business on feelings of the players, from what I have seen so far, integrity matters to them.
As I have said before, I am but one player. But to me, honesty matters. If they go back on what they have stated, I will not spend a dime to support this game ever. I have been down that road of shadiness with Z and I have no intentions to travel down it again. I am fairly certain that BVG knew people would not immediately be opening their wallets without new content. I am sure that once items are released, they will see financial gain. Until then, they could release more unreleased items, people obviously love them. I am sure they also have more Snowy Princess coming and a new 3D designer starting.......Just my opinions and point of view from my perspective......
I didn't mean you specifically, I agree I should have made that more clear. It was a general statement. I also want whats best for the game and the company. Trust does matter, but if a company can not sustain itself because of a select few would rather keep themes closed, then give other players a chance to have the themes to decorate and at the same time provide money to the company to keep the game fun and exciting then that is on all the people against it. Again, when these statements were originally posted by BVG there was not an argument for why it would be beneficial to keep them open. The company was trying to be loyal to a select few, and not look at it as a whole. They may have looked at it that way and still decided against it. That would seriously disappoint me, but I would have to accept that was the type of company that bought the game.

As it stands now, I don't not agree with opening themes up just because people want them. In 2009 when I joined, I wanted the 08 Halloween items so bad. I didn't have the coins to pay the going prices. I never once thought, wow they should open that theme back up for me because I want it. It seems like a generalization gets thrown around a lot that if you don't want old stuff back, you are some how wanting to make millions off of Yo players and play to be rich. That is not fair at all. Because if we were going to make generalizations, then those of us who do enjoy the challeneges in the hunt, could simply say, those who want it all opened back up, just want everything handed to them. See how that works? Not a fair generalization either.
As I stated earlier, I am a decorator. I understand it can be hard to find decorator items such as grass tiles, trees, windows, rocks, plants, doors, shelves....etc. Perhaps going forward BVG will consider a decorator theme that never expires.......with items from themes that get added as we go along......

Here is GREG's own words from the sticky (Thank You To Our Supporters!!!!! )
"When we decided to purchase YoWorld, we not only got a loan to cover the initial purchase price, we also have very large ongoing development/maintenance costs. In addition to the initial purchase price, our current monthly staff and server costs are in excess of $150,000/month. These are very real costs, and YoWorld is still in a position where we are losing money..
How many businesses do you know that keep operating at a loss, how long do you think they are going to last if they continue to loose money?

Yes, I have read that. Thank you. I think that BVG knew what they were getting into when they took this game on, they haven't even had it a full 2 months yet. I don't think they expected to make a profit immediately, do you? The customer base was broken but loyal. They know content is what drives funds. If they thought they had to immediately make money, don't you think they would have said from day one, to support this game, we will open all old themes? When Greg posts here that they need to do that immediately to support the game, I will be first in line to say, "do it."

If BVG came out and stated they were in dire need of funds, you might see some spend money to help them, but you all also have those to zip up their wallet because they don't want to waste anymore money on a company that might take the money and run or close the game because they were already that bad off. No company is going to come out and down right ask their players or customers to buy their stuff because they are going under, except closing furniture stores, and they are trying to sell as much as possible to make as much money as possible so they get stuck with as small as a bill as possible in the end. It's sad really... Any holiday theme should be a collectible in my opinion. Those were the only themes that were originally removed from the game other than removing themes to clear up space. When Zynga became money hungry thats when they started doing timers on everything else
As you said hopefully they will make permanent decorating themes that never leave. I think adding to the theme as we go along is a great idea.
