The rerelease police wouldn't like it one bit.
That's the bonus

Everyone that joined the game after the themes were discontinued didn't have a chance to buy them. Plus these items would be new to a lot of players. Thus bringing in yo cash money for BVG. I know that I would be buying yo cash to spend on the NYC
theme, flapper theme, Miami and all of the more elegant themes. It just doesn't make sense to me from a business stand point not to keep them open. Again the items would be new to all players that joined after they discontinued the theme and it would allow more money to be brought in through yo cash will with less work than creating new themes. Now I am not saying don't create new theme because all they have to do is open the themes and continue to work on new themes.
I didn't have a chance to purchase a Mustang in 1965....can we get those released too? That's fair, right?
Yea it's fair because now you can buy other mustangs. They name but may look slightly different.

Hey everyone!
As it's been stated a few times in this thread quoting Gary's interview with YoRehab, if any item has officially been released by Zynga in the past we will not be putting it back into the game. Accidental releases such as the Menorah Hat are different, as they weren't an official release.
All of your 08 and 09 costumes, retro specks, and all the other valuable items that have been released before are not going to be re-released. As Gary mentioned, we understand the value of rare items and want to keep it that way.
If you see people posting 'rumor' threads about releases coming tomorrow or next week, if it's not a post from one of us then it's exactly that, a rumor!
I hope this helps clear things up for everyone!

True....but we can also buy other items in yoworld - but they may look slightly different. I understand what you're saying but but to think that every new player from here to eternity should have access to every item, ever released, is ridiculous. That would completely nullify part of game - the part where trades take place, or the auction house, etc.

That'd almost be reason enough for me.

I think any additional money that they might make would be counterintuitive long term. BVG has gone on record stating that they wouldn't re-release any item that everyone had a fair opportunity to purchase them. Having players lose faith in BVG would damage long term revenue....players would continually question if items were coming out again. I would love to have some of the decorating items (sidewalks, etc) back as well...but BVG has stated what they are willing to do and I accept that.

Lose faith just because people want the themes to close to make boocoodles amount of money?? Or lose faith because BVG realized they could make money on the other themes that were closed and were not given a fair opportunity to all players (not all players heard of the game by the time it was released until all the hupla over the game closing) and eventually use that money to pay employees to creat new and exciting themes?
