In Gary's Q&A thread, someone asked if BVG could release a Church. I cannot remember his exact words in response to this, and I think the thread is gone now, but it was something to the effect that religious items were a touchy thing.

Wondering why then they thought it was ok to rerelease the Celtic Cross. It's clearly a religious item, and it being so, was the reason it was intentionally removed from the store in the first place.

Either a company is fine with releasing religious items or they aren't. Take a stand...and stick to it.

Zynga changed their morals big time... first they start removing a urinal because about three people sent a complaint in due to the fact it loosely resembled a mouth, then about a year and a half later they release urinating statues!!

I'm fine with religious items. It's no big deal, we already have a bunch. There's a lot more than just Santa and a Christmas tree released for Christmas ya know. I just hope to see all religions getting recognized, as well as non-believers..

I wouldnt care, as long as all faiths, an us nonbelievers are included.

I agree, but I didn't get that feeling from Gary's response to the question about releasing a Church.

A church is a full blown thing,a "Celtic cross" to a lot of people will be used as little more then a decorative item not a religious one,well that's my thoughts on it.

^^ The Cross is a symbol of Christianity. For you to think of it as anything other than that is offensive to me.

They must be ok with religious items. The last time I checked the menorah was a religious item. They did release that hat.

Uhm....I don't recall saying I was against any religion at all. My question was if there are a couple of religious items have been released/released into the game (Menorah Hat, Celtic Cross) then why is there an issue with other items, i.e., a Church......

I have four churches if you'd like to visit some of my homes.
There's plenty of stuff in game to make a great variety of churches.

Because dedicating a whole house to a particular religion (and subsequently there would most likely have to be a whole theme released with it), is a lot more full blown than a few items. BVG didn't even design the items, Zynga did.
