Is there any way to make your avatar invisible if you don't have the invisible head and body?

No maam. There is an old headless costume, but we still have bodies with that.

There is also a camouflage skin that gives us a smoky look. But it is so rare that I've never seen anyone else who has one.

To be able to look totally invisible, the only way is to use these two items:

1. Invisible Body Costume HW2015
2. Invisible Head HW2015

Too bad they are not in store anymore, so they can only be found (rarely) in the AH.
