Well hello, YoFriends.

My name is Archie. Yes, yes, "Archaeologist Archie"... I know.

I see you're embarking on an adventure to Ancient Egypt. I, too, am interested in the vast history and intrigue of the pyramids.

In fact, I'm hoping you may be able to help me with my current work.

I have been looking into some interesting puzzles the locals call "The Mystery of the Sphinx". Have you heard of it? Some say that a mysterious prize awaits those who are able to solve every piece of the mystery.

I am less interested in the prize, but I do wish to uncover these lost puzzles for my research. I've been experiencing some trouble solving the first clue in order to reach the second puzzle. Might you be interested in assisting? I would be more than willing to share the coveted reward if the pieces are solved...

Hi again YoFriends,

Archie here. First off, I want to thank you for all your help with the puzzle the other day. I'm not quite sure if there's any significance to those leftover letters, but you were quick to notice it. Very interesting findings.

In my travels I've come across many puzzles, but this crossword in particular has been giving me a frustrating time. The only thing that the locals have told me is that all of the answers are Egypt-inspired (either naming or describing Ancient Egypt-related things).

I'm wondering if you'll be able to help me with this. I've got a few of the answers, but figured I would let you take a fresh look at it.

Hopefully we'll be able to unscramble more details about any possible rewards if we're able to work together to solve it again.

And they've given me these clues:

1 (down): A familiar pharaoh by his full name
2 (across): Alternatively, Nathan (one word)
3 (down): As seen on The Rosetta Stone
4 (down): We figur(ine) you might need one of these in the afterlife
5 (down): A land fit for a leader
6 (across): Meaning "Ra [is] the one who gave birth [to] him"
7 (across): A trait of a forgotten tomb
8 (across): Pieces of art to last the ages

This is definitely something that will need some discussion; I look forward to solving it with you guys!

Hello again YoFriends.

My research on the Mysteries of the Sphinx has come to a screeching halt and it feels as though I'm having a spot of Archaeologist's Block.

You've been extremely helpful companions so far, and I would love for the chance for us to work together again. I know we're getting closer and closer to the fifth and final Mystery of the Sphinx (which I've heard holds a beautiful treasure to those who find it), but this third mystery is standing in the way.

The locals have told me that there is a low-cost Mysterious Egyptian Box hidden somewhere in the shops of YoWorld, and contained within in it are more secrets to uncovering the Mysteries of the Sphinx. Of course, I have no idea where this box is or how to reveal the secret, so I will need your help.

This task is much too complex for one man to take on, however, with the efforts of the group I think we should be able to get closer!

Please use this thread to report your findings, I will join in as well if there's anything that I'm able to add.

Hello again YoFriends.

Thanks to your help, we've collectively made it through three of the five Mysteries of the Sphinx. We're getting so close to uncovering its secrets, and I can't wait to discover what lies at the end!

There are a number of archaeologists competing with us to figure things out, but at the rate that we're solving things together, I have a feeling we'll be the first to get there.

This next puzzle was found near the base of one of the Pyramids of Giza (which we visited after you had put your puzzles together). I've heard rumors that once this one is solved, one of the locals will present us with a final task.

We're getting close to the final stretch!

Hello again YoFriends.

After your excellence in figuring out yesterday's jumbles (and the additional find of the hidden clue in the cracks!) I've been approached by one of the locals, who has led me to a secret tomb.

We traversed through a series of dark rooms (each one more terrifying and mysterious as the next) before stumbling upon a dusty sarcophagus - a sign that it has been untouched in quite some time. I've included a picture of what was inscribed on the wall above the sarcophagus, and I'm convinced it's our final puzzle.

More than ever, I need you to work together to solve this riddle! I think what lies at the end - should you put the hints and clues together - is the reward we've been looking for!
