They have given us the option to turn off animations for those who do not like them or have medical conditions. That way everyone can enjoy the game.

The other animations do not trouble me, but strobe lights would! Why should I have to turn off all the other animations (forever) to not be affected by an unexpected strobe in a friend's house?!

The reverse can also be said, Katherine. I would think if you have a friend that you made aware it would affect you they would accommodate you.

Many of the people I visit back I do not know personally! We are ships in the night! How would I even begin to message them about the fact that strobes cause migraines (at the least) for me?!

I have a friend in real life who has a seizure condition. It is triggered by strobe lights and flashing things. She manages to still watch tv, go to movies, and surf the internet. The difference is she doesn't have a tool (turning off animations) at her disposal like we do here. If you are going to visit people you do not know you could simply turn off animation and then reverse it. I will leave it at that.

I am actually aware of how to manage my risk of exposure you know? I, too, watch tv, go to movies, and surf the internet! I also play PC games! You might not mean it, but your tone is coming off dismissive to me...

Then how is this little game more of an issue? You state you don't want to have to turn off animations and I don't want to not have animations in the game, solely because you don't want to use the tools given to you to "manage" your exposure. I would not expect others to conform to my needs when I am not willing to use tools that have been given, to help me if I needed it.
How you interpret my tone is not something I can control, but simply disagreeing with you in no way makes me dismissive. Now, I will not take up any more space on this thread because we clearly will not be agreeing.

I have a HS classmate who loves expensive exotic perfumes! Well, one day she was very upset because HR had told her she could not wear perfumes in the workplace because a coworker had health issues and the perfumes were an issue for them! I had to gently tell that classmate that her wants did NOT outweigh her coworker's needs! (And she was pointing out all the mitigation the coworker could do to avoid exposure!) Take my point? Or, do you really expect me to give up my fun of being able to see animations in order that I am not exposed to strobes, for the sake of you having your fun increased some? Is that it?! I am not asking to have strobes removed from the game! I am asking that they not be put in game in the first place. It may spoil your potential fun. I am not asking you to give up any of the actual fun you already have for my sake though! If strobes were put in the game I would have to give up some of my actual fun!
My point with this is, strobes are known to be a big risk factor, this is proven. I don't purchase games with strobe risks. I play this game because there (so far) are no strobe risks. It is NOT that big of an ask to request that a line be drawn at actual strobes! That's how I manage my risks. I avoid exposure. Which means I'd either have to turn off animations forever (because I would forget to turn them off before visiting a friend one day) and not be able to enjoy my Ancient City, or risk exposure. Too big a risk.

Sky and her blood ideas but it needs to be more red and less pinkish tint to it.
Alicen and the shadow women but we need men as well and other creepy shadows.
AG and her whole list! especially the body parts to toss about and the NPC! I would add in a Pin Head though.
I would love to see these items that are handhelds in game already made into versions of furniture items as well just not too small.

And those who have their breathing issues triggered by perfume do not have the option to turn off the air. But okay, Katherine. No strobes for any of us because you are not willing to use the tools provided to you because you might forget to turn them back on after a coin run.
You know, if the game did not have the option to temporarily turn off animation, I would absolutely understand the problem with strobe lights in the game and expect that BVG shouldn't add them. I am not an uncaring person. What I am struggling with is the expectation that we can't ask for things due to your unwillingness to use the tool because you might forget to turn it back on. That seems very unreasonable to me. You want to deny fun for others, even if it is "potential" fun because of your unwillingness to use something implemented to protect you, which is not permanent, appears selfish to me.

Those who have it call it fibro fog. Some sites even misidentify fibro fog as being fatigue, it isn't!) I cannot merely turn on animations temporarily because I WILL FORGET to turn them back off before visiting someone! And while it may end up being fine day after day, one day I will come upon a room with a strobe in it... Too big a risk! I am not being unreasonable to ask that something that never was in the game in the first place stay that way due to it being a medical risk. When did it become expected that the person with the risk (in a case like this at least) be the one to cede so everyone else won't have to give up a little fun?! That's a big ask, and unrealistic expectation that they *should* do this every time! Also, it's pretty unequal! I just don't want to be unequal here!
Fibro fog info:
What are the symptoms of fibro fog?
What Exactly Is Fibro Fog?
Memory issues or forgetfulness.
Impaired ability to concentrate or stay focused.
Decreased alertness.
Problems thinking clearly or mental slowness.
Difficulty holding a conversation
Examples of fibro fog:
Quote: On my fog days, I’ve been known to get in the shower, shampoo my hair, and get out, forgetting the other 9385 steps to actually showering and getting yourself clean.
Losing things when you haven’t moved.
Quote: The other day, I couldn't remember how Shampoo worked. I once spent 3 minutes trying to figure out the difference between entrance and exit when I had to leave our complex. I mafe myself food and left it on the counter for a good hour before remembering I was hungry. I forgot how to say "the day before yesterday" because I couldn't remember the word yesterday so I ended up bumbling through an entire explanation when I could have just said what day it was. The worst is the days when everytime I try to think, I just hit a mental wall and my brain goes blank
Quote: I'll start talking and actively forget what I'm saying and start kinda going ''Umm.... Errrr..... '' and go quiet and my mom is all ''for fecks sake finish your sentence!'' and I'm so fogged off it I can't even say to her... Mom, this is the fibrofog.
Quote: We make jokes about it here. One time I was asking my son to close the curtains but forgot what they were called. So I'm yelling at him in frustration to close the hanging things. He's just laughing cause he thinks it's hilarious. Just the other day my husband and I were talking and I couldn't remember a certain word (don't remember what it is now lol) and my brain would only give me the first 2 letters. I told him it was like my brain was holding the other letters hostage for some reason. He knew what I was trying to say. I take him to all important doc appts cause I will get befuddled and docs have no clue what in trying to say so he interprets for me. I tell people if I didn't laugh I'd cry and crying hurts too much.
