Thank you Greg for hosting this and the outfit and hair are soooooo pretty!!
We are celebrating hannukah ( we do both) this is for in memory of my husband-so the festivities for us are 8 days of foods and gifts-we just little things as there is only my one daughter and I-we LOVE latkes-I miss my mother in laws cooking as I can't make these and I have tried-they say some recipes are made a bit different -with love. so I miss her special recipe but love to eat them so we just buy them ready made.

then we celebrate Christmas too so we have the best of both worlds. I didn't do a tree as we now changed to new traditions so we go on vacation for the holidays-I did buy a blue and white twinkling branches and call it our hannukah bush and it's very pretty. but Christmas was so huge for us but now that my family has gotten teeny tiny - we go away and see different light shows and decorations that are huge and carnivals..I mostly enjoy the food and take pictures. My daughter has things all planned out and its like new york with many people out and about celebrating-we do gifts there and enjoy a tradition dinner that I no longer cook..somethings things work out ok.

My christmas is in summer time so we often have foods cooked on the BBQ for Christmas day. I will be hosting our Christmas lunch at my house this year

last year we played hiding the elf on the shelf guy and I had taken it with us and I taped it all over the place-the train staff seen me tape him to the train window and everyone wanted pictures lol..we just took turns hiding the elf and it was really a lot of fun and laughs-which we both need this time of year. so we make new traditions and different places to venture out on and this keeps our mind mostly on the todays and we can laugh-I missed that with my daughter and I know both my huband and daughter in heaven would not want us to be sad but to enjoy things. So that's what we do.
there's ice skating and also old fashioned roller skating that my daughter wants to do and hotel is decorated like a gigantic gingerbread house so we gotta look at this and theres a big carnival happening-not going on the ferris wheel-daughter can do those things-I mainly stay on the side lines eating a poutine and a grilled street hot dog lol.

I hope whatever everyone does that is is a joyous holiday for all! Its all so special-oh yeah and those huge malls-and sales!!! We do alright-I go a lot slower now so will enjoy it more-it;s my daughter that has things planned out for each day so she will be keeping me busy

Jo I wish I was as optimistic and positive as you even after all you've been through.I'm afraid I'm a pessimist though.I'm not sure if it's because I see the worst in things or if it's because I want to be prepared if the worst happens.I do know the holiday's always depresses me. :sad:

oh Lindy there are still the holiday times that are really hard and melancholy so this is why we changed things-it never is easy but we push ourselves and we just have to remember the wonderful holidays past but also have to look for the todays. I remember my dad use to make us a skating rink in the back yard-oh the times we had! all the fun times from yesteryears make me smile-we need to do that more!

is it just me but I was never inside in the winter-canadian winter below zeros temps and we played outside all the time and not ONCE do I ever remember being cold! Now the wind blows a little more and I am chilly and when winter comes -Im always cold now!!!?

oh and I Love quilts and duvet covers that I get lost in putting them on the duvets and I still love flannel night gowns!!!!
