The next are taken from one of my hundreds of journals, so I'm not entirely sure if I wrote it or read it from a book at the time. It is wonderful when you can't remember things.....
Life is completely what you make of it. It is also what you get out of it from what you put in. If you go through life only ever thinking of yourself, you will eventually have to pay some kind of remuneration back.
If you do what you can for others for no other reason than to help, whether you are valued for it or not doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is at the end of it all you don't want to be faced with regrets when it's far too late.
The only validation we require is the validation from ourselves. It is our own job to boost ourselves up and be proud and happy of who we are. Always depending on others to make us feel good is wrong. Validation should be a good feeling not a negative needy reaction of others. Sympathy is not necessarily something everyone should be getting every minute of the day. Support, understanding, compassion is more important that anything else. We need to stop self serving for ourselves and serve and help those that truly do deserve to be helped.
Never lose yourself from giving too much to others. If they're not returning it, they don't deserve it.
