I always buy a few things just to resell when they get "hot". And I am pretty good at picking at least one thing that will. I see a lot of whining about prices though. Not my fault you didn't buy it when in the store. I will keep whatever I bought to make a lot of coins as long as it takes. I'll keep it forever before I sell it for 100k.
So I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone, its just something I see a lot. I always pay the price without complaining for the things I want. I wish everyone did.

If you look at the average sale prices on there they are usually much higher than guides, but I buy a lot from there too cause it's so hard to find items in trades.

As I see it, it's like real life. I decide to do a Car Boot sale, which I understand is similar to a Garage Sale in the US.
I price my items and wait for people to buy. After a while, if my items do not sell I have a decision to make. Do I drop my prices and see them (hopefully) sell at a bit less than I wanted, or do I stick at that price and take the risk of them going home with me at the end?
If I drop the prices, by how much? How much of a drop in price am I willing to accept?
If I take them home with me, how desperate am I for the potential money? Will I be able to sell them at a later date? I will I have to store them in definitely? Would it be easier just to dump them in a skip and be done?
Of course it is easier here because we are not talking real money, and we don't have to worry about storage.

Maybe if I'm selling my very cheap coin or freebies stuff, then yes my price would go down, but selling HIGH END items (cost the owner a lot of cash) , In HIGH DEMAND , or Hard to find Rares, would be very different. I don't know about in England, but in the US you wouldn't have a "garage sale" for those types of items, and the value/costs of the item usually goes up NOT down!
