The membership is optional and was already available for a while when Zynga owned the game.

I didn't have VIP membership before but I would probably subscribe now if it it was available - I'm hungry for new items to decorate with and would love to see it opened up again.

Oh how I miss my VIP membership. I miss the yocash, I miss the discount, I miss the limited editions........... if BVG would bring back VIP at a reasonable rate, I would definitely rejoin. I was VIP from start to end with Zynga too and I LOVED it!!!!!
