Despite having seen the Area 2 Festival with David Bowie and Moby, the best concert I ever went to was a bar show of Uriah Heep in about 2001. I was right up front and there was absolutely no barrier between the audience and stage. I was slightly younger than most of the crowd, not being a fan from back in the day. I was familiar with a few of their songs. They just rocked. The crowd was friendly and probably mostly stoned. The guitar player was handing out guitar picks by placing them in our hands and closing our fingers around them; yes, I got one. Still have it. I had to work the next day (Saturday), and boy was I in pain after getting home later than 2am. My ears were still ringing three days later. It was so worth it.

m probably one of those people who haven't been to a concert xD
During Canada day, they usually have performers on stage, so the one I definitely went downtown for was Carly Rae Jepson when her song, "Call me maybe" was popular :haha:
It was cool, during the day concerts are different than night ones. I was holding a noice maker, signs, and definitely confetti flying ~
I will be going to the last ever Coldplay concerts so I wonder how that will be like :star: :night:

The best concert I've ever been to was an event called RIse Above Fest. It was a 2-day festival with bands such as Korn, Stone Sour, Skillet, Seether, Hell Yeah, Halestorm, Shinedown, and many others. I made a bunch of friends and had a lot of fun. I got to meet some of the bands, which was sick as yadda!! it was the most fun I've ever had. I've never been happier and will never forget that festival. :D :) :star: :smug:

Ronnie James Dio, Deep Purple, and the Scorpions. Dio was fun. The Scorpions were good. Deep Purple was -ing EPIC. Each played about an hour, but Deep Purple just rocked the place. My seat was in the third row, but for Deep Purple I was up at the barrier. Ian Gillan has lost nothing over the years. His voice was as good as it ever was, and he danced around the stage barefoot like a guy in his twenties. The audience was all in with "Smoke on the Water."

On July 8, 2011 my dad and I saw Motley Crue and Poison with and opening of the New York Dolls. Even after 30 years of rocking they still put on amazing show! The huge neon signs everywhere, Tommy Lee on a roller coaster with his drum set, the stage lights flashing everywhere was just absolutely thrilling! Then my tied favorite was Elton John March 21 2014! even then at 67 years old he was absolutely amazing! Seeing him perform was on my bucket list and he did an amazing job! Jumping on top of the piano and watching him perform so many songs old and new was fantastic! I can not pick a favorite from these 2 because they both were incredible!

O-M-G I haven't thought of this in decades!
July 1977 I went to the Superbowl Of Rock Concert series at Soldier Field in Chicago. This was a 3 part 3 day concert featuring bands that included Ted Nugent, Journey, The Rolling Stones, Electric Light Orchestra, Emerson Lake & Palmer, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, J Geils, REO, Peter Frampton, 38 Special Climax Blues Band and Foghat. (The following event we went to at Milwaukee County Stadium added Ike & Tine Turner)

We arrived at 6am to get in line for "stadium seating", meaning we were fighting for grass closest to the stage. There were almost 100,000 people at each of the 3 concerts, & most people went to all 3. My girlfriend Arlene & I staked out 2nd base right across from the stage at home plate. It was in the high 90s, high humidity and I remember noticing we all smelled like crap. No one cared! "Gimmee Shelter" by the Stones made us forget... "Have a Cigar" made us fly with the pink pig hovering above; "Free For All" was more than a song and "Do You Feel Like I DO" was met with the screams of YES! In the end, "Hotel California" & "DESPERADO" lulled us into a calm evening.
This was the best of any summer - my H.S. Graduation present to myself!
p.s. What happens at Soldier Field, stays at Soldier Field.

The best concert I had ever been to was to see Steven Tyler last September! He played at a somewhat small theatre in my town, couldn't have been more than 2500-3000 in the entire place. Not only did I get to see him, but prior to the concert I was actually able to meet and speak with him for a bit! We talked about the power of music, and I got to thank one of my icons for how much they've helped me through discovering myself and learning that I'd like to pursue music as a full-time career. I actually got a kiss on the cheek too, which was a legendary moment for me, haha!! Originally, during the concert, we were supposed to be seated in the third row, but everyone stood up and flocked to the stage! I was dead center, right below him! I could touch his mic stand and everything! Rocking out to Aerosmith classics only he could slay, it truly was a phenomenal concert, and a night I will never forget! :D

Best Concert Ever for me was the 1981 Rolling Stones Halloween Night in the Dallas Cotton Bowl (open air arena). It began to rain during their performance, but that didn't put a damper on anyone! Fans used the concert floor for a slippery slide and Mik Jagger used his stage for a slippery slide. We all played in the rain and had a wonderful time, and as great as that was, it isn't the real reason I pick this particular concert for the Best Ever. The number one reason I chose this of the many concerts I have been to is because this was my very concert to ever go to sober. I had apprehensions about going at all, wondering if a concert could be any fun sober. As it happens, I had the best time ever, and best of all, I remembered everything, unlike most concerts before where my last memory was the opening band and the cloud of smoke rising from the floor and thinking, "Wow look at all that smoke" then turning to see someone passing a joint to me. After that, it was all a blur. I vaguely remember ZZ Top, Nazareth, Scorpions and so many others I saw before I got clean. I wish everyone a Best Ever experience like that one. It was the best surprise ever, to find out getting clean doesn't mean being a miserable or joyless!

The best concert that I've ever been to was this July I went to see Ed Sheeran's Divide tour with my boyfriend! He was incredible. It was just him on stage with his guitar. He is the only singer that doesn't rely on anything, but his own skills. He sang his heart out! During the concert there were 4 proposals!! I was hoping that I was next.. it didn't happen, but it was still the best night of my life.  :D

So my first real concert outside of local bands was last summer at Warped Tour in St. Louis. I remember getting up at 6am so I could be concert ready. We got their around 7 and there was already a HUGE line. We sat and stood and just waited meeting all kinds of people in line. There was a group of people that just started giving away juice boxes. We met newer bands that were going around promoting themselves. Finally the time came and the line moved forward and we got closer and closer to the entrance. My heart raced in my chest this was something I had wanted for years. Once inside we raced to a tent that was giving away passes to meet a couple of bands. We walked around and found The Wall. Seeing all of those bands on the list was just beautiful. We sat in the amphitheater until We The Kings came on and we joined the pit. Belting out Check Yes Juliet and Sad Song was amazing. Walking around dancing to every song seeing all the bands and the ginormous crowds. I had to sit on a hill to watch Mayday Parade. Because of Warped Tour Set it Off is one of my favorite bands. Watching Falling in Reverse was just so awesome Ronnie Radke live is surely a sight to see. Finally at the end of my adventure there I pushed my way to 3 people behind the front barricade for Sleeping With Sirens. Screaming along with every lyric. Kellin Quinn rocking the stage. It was an amazing experience. The next day they had posted a picture of the crowd and I actually found my face so technically I'm in a picture with Kellin Quinn.

My second concert was a not popular to most band Blood on The Dance Floor as part of their Farewell Tour. When I was 13 I went through some awful things and was on the brink of losing my battle with depression. I was in a class planning things out and that's when I heard it. The song that would save me and bring me down from every panic attack i would have after. You Are The Heart was its name. And last September I begged my dad to take me, the tickets were cheap and it was close to home. I bought VIP so I could meet them. Right before the tour started one of the members decided to leave before the tour but it was Dahvie who did it for his fans. I know there are the rumors about him but I would never forget the words of that song the one that would save me over and over. The day came My dad, my best friend, and I all got in the car and our journey began from the edge of Iowa to the other side of Illinois to Danville. At Vintage Villains we stepped inside and took in the scene. They let the VIP in and we waited and then he arrived. Dahvie Insanity the one and only. He was shorter than I thought he'd be. I waited eagerly in line to meet him. When my turn came my eyes filled with tears as he embraced me holding me as I told him my story. Tears rolling down my cheeks as he told me he was proud of me for winning my fight. He spoke those words from the song just as I'd imagined every time I heard the song. "You are the heart that beats inside of me. If you give up you give up on me." I cried as he hugged me once more and signed my phone case. The rest of the night I met some amazing people and made friends I will never forget. We jumped around and danced to music and bands we didn't know. And then the time came and he came out on stage. I have never had so much fun in my entire life. He threw fake blood onto the dance floor as he sang holding the mic out to let us belt out the lyrics. I stood right up front the entire time taking it all in. The best night of my life. Most people don't look kindly upon the music Dahvie has put out there but to me it's fun and funny to jam out to in the car and dance around my room like an idiot.

Thanks for taking the time to read this even if I win nothing. I love sharing these experiences with others as these made me feel complete.

Concerts, man. Water costs $37 and bathroom lines stretch into the Infinite Beyond and someone will definitely stamp on your foot or scream directly in you ear and oh God is it time to leave yet? Where did you even park? But when they're worth it, they're pretty magical.
But put all that behind, Twenty One Pilots hands down! I've been to two of their concerts and they were the best shows I've ever been too. Tyler and Josh put everything they have into the shows and it's amazing being there and hearing the whole crowd sing along, everyone there is just so into the music. If you haven't been, go! :smug:

Easter Sunday, 1976 my Brother came home and told me, do what I say and don't argue. I said Ok in a questioning manner, he said Go to bed and take a nap. I thought he had lost his mind till he said, Well, if you don't want to go see Led Zeppelin tonight I will take someone else. I flew off that couch and ran to the bedroom. We went to the Chicago Stadium and had great seats, I will never forget how Robert Plant's hair seem to glow under the lights and looked like a Lion's Mane. I have seen Emerson Lake & Palmer, Foghat, Pink Floyd, J Geils and several other bands that I can't remember but I have to say that Led Zeppelin was the best as well as my first.

I had an incredible night at a Falling in Reverse concert! I'll never forget it. The Line to get in was super long, it's alright I made some of the coolest people. Me and my new friends went in together. When we went in the Music was poopin, the lights were flashing. The rock station Q102 was there. I remember seeing torn up teddy bears inside of a clear drum set. Me and my friends danced and sung our hearts out to the words of the songs, I got to touch his hand. It was a great feeling! My heart raced so fast. It really was an incredible experience.

Got a lot of concert memories, but I will give a few:
-I had done some artwork for Ava Inferi's Blood of Bacchus cd, so when Rune Eriksen's (aka Blasphemer) other band Aura Noir came to play the USA at Baltimore's Maryland Death Fest the first time, I wanted to meet Blasphemer. I did not have money to buy tickets, so he put me on the guest list. MDF was then held at the Sonar, which has since closed, so I had given Blasphemer my cell phone number. I went to the festival, but did not hear the call until I stepped outside. At the time, i believe the hotel that is not the Embassy Suites and used to be a former Masonic Lodge was called the Traymore and the bands were put up in that, so I ran all the way up the hill and waited for a while, even though the front desk said he might have left. After recovering enough from running up a hill in the heat, I started back down and was at the light to cross from the hotel and noticed these three guys, who I figured right away was Aura Noir. So as they got closer, I call out, "Rune?" "Yes?" "I believe we know each other." Right away, he was like "Oh, Jen!" So, we hook up with photographer Peter Beste and his guest and we look for a place to eat and wind up at this Irish Pub eating pizza. Because i was his guest, I got to hang backstage with the band and was able to get some awesome photographs. I am still friends with Aura Noir.

-Maryland Death Fest 2015 was my favorite, as four bands I wanted to see-Aura Noir, Twilight of the Gods (both with Blasphemer), Arcturus and Amorphis-were playing. I had VIP passes for the three days and I waiting for Arcturus to set up and go on when ICS Vortex comes into the VIP area to talk to some friends. I forget at this point exactly what he was saying, but he was in full costume for the show and towering over everyone like a redwood, but I recall he was very funny. During the show, at one point the guitarist, Knit Magne Valle puts down his guitar and runs up to the VIP area to high five fans, high fiving me first. He then goes along the front high fiving everyone else before going back onstage. The show was very high energy, very theatrical and I am enjoying it. They get done and I go around the back of the stage. Knut bounces down the stairs and goes over by the instrument cases to change to his street clothes, so he is right in front of everybody in his underwear. He obviously did not want to go all the way to the trailers and then back to the stage to help take everything apart, so I'm trying not to stare at this him. When he was clothed, I went over and said "Mange Takk", which he seemed to not understand (probably noisy) so I say louder "Tusen Takk!" His eyes lit up and he said something I do not recall clearly. I had photographed the performance extensively, forgetting he had come to the side of the stage where the VIP area was until I made prints and realized I had fantastic photos of the whole performance, including Knut and Sverd, the keyboardist.

-Monster Magnet at the Trocadero, I think 1999-first concert that they headlined with still the Wyndorf, Caivano, Mundell, Kleiman and Calandra line up I went to, having previously seen them open for Rob Zombie in 1998 the November before. I believe it was the last song of the night, "Spine of God", and the lights are turned to red, smoke everywhere, candles on cymbals and they did this 20 minute version of the song that blew my mind and featured a theremin solo from Wyndorf. It was very intense, I think at one point Wyndorf flings his guitar down and dry humps it. I could be wrong about it being the last song-Kid Rock had opened for them and during the song "Space Lord", he comes out and is sticking dollars in the dancer's thong before crowd diving off of the stage.

We looked "hot" back then. Afro hair styles, platform shoes, hipster boots, mini skirts and halter tops. Our bell bottoms were never wide enough so we used to slit the side seams and sew in triangles to make the pants wider. Now it's crocs, baggy tee shirts and stretch pants. :haha: Boy have times changed!
My first love when I was young was ALICE COOPER! He was so cool and different and I wanted to see him in concert SO BAD! My mom wouldn't let me go because he had a python around his neck and wore dark make up around his eyes and thought he was satanic. :wailing: I did get to a few concerts growing up (and survived :D . Concerts were crazy back then).
45 years later, my brother called and told me that he knew how much I wanted to go to that concert and bought tickets and he wanted to take me to see ALICE!
WHAT A SURPRISE!
I was so excited and so happy to be there! There were kids jumping the fence to get up to the stage and if I thought this old body could have cleared that fence, I would have been up there with them. It was an awesome night and I have an awesome brother, so this was my best concert memory.

One of my most memorable concert moments was actually my very first concert. Back in 1995, my two best friends and I saw Green Day. I was only 15 years old at the time. I remember my friend throwing her bracelet up on stage and Billie Joe Armstrong picked it up and put it on. We freaked out! I have been to many concerts since then. Met a lot of bands and gotten autographs for my memorabilia room. But nothing tops Billie Joe wearing that teenage girls purple bracelet!
