I think you should make it a study/apothecary/laboratory. That way, people can create a haunted library, a morgue or all of the above.

Moonlit skylights and windows, note the leaded glass on some of the bookcases are cloudy around the edges. The books and glass have a dusty, green tint. Having 2 floors of books would also be a very cool feature.

I like the first one better. One of the pictures left in the comments is very like it--it gives the impression that someone is using it.

Curio! It might be interactive, the Yo opens the lid and a spirit comes out slowly, then zips away through the ceiling!

Could this be a drawing room insead?

Image

Reading nook!
Image

Image

Heavy furniture, dark wood, chandelier and sconces.
Image

Like this but creepy, as if the furniture is exhuding sad memories and at any moment you expect to look up and meet the gaze of unliving eyes... You don't want to hear the stories the walls could tell! So worn furniture, darker or faded colors, dimmer light etc.
Image

This room has some of the dusty "old" feel to it.

But not so intact! Shabby, old, the furniture has seen some things!
