I'm sorry to hear this happen..and thank you for posting this I might save your images you provided..my old pc did this from time to time..not the monitor, not the cords, not anything..definitely was something in the game and no one believed me! If I ever get back on there I will share a picture!!

---- I had the worse problem with my comp not UPDATING for a while. I tried everything everything. You wont believe the reason. you just wont.
It was the MONITOR! I had a monitor where it had plug ins in the front and the "computer in the monitor was not allowing passage." trying to update shut me down over and over.
Then my monitor would not turn on with the first try. I had no idea a monitor could prevent updates or cause other things to connect. Since my monitor was like a storage devise plug in it caused a lot of problems.
When I swapped out my monitor It all fixed by one issue. Just wondering if the rendering is not due to a hardware.
