So me and another YED member are hosting a decorating contest, and I had a question about the rules on the forum.

The contest is on the YED Facebook fan page, but there is a separate one for just the YO community that will not go up against YED members. In addition to the prizes we donated for the winners, I was also going to pick 10 of my favorite rooms and gift them prizes personally.

So, here is my question. Am I allowed to advertise here on the forums for that contest under the contests section, even though it will direct them to the YED page where the contest is held and entered? I really would like to bring the forum community to these types of contests. I also love to help people out with prizes, while seeing their creativity, but also promoting interaction to grow our community.

For anyone who can help me, including any of the Vikings, it would greatly be appreciated because I do not want to break any rules. I originally posted it, but someone messaged me and said this was not allowed, so I removed the post.

I do not know the answer to this. I have "heard" no pages are allowed to hold contests in the forums but I see very big pages doing this and advertising their pages on here.
So far we do not get a "clear answer from the BVG team."
I think things might be weighed out and considereed maybe.

My person input and from my own personal experience is this will be a hard task.
1. BVG is the leader and not pages, not forums, not anyone but BVG.
2. ALl the pages are different. ( some are not worthy to be called a page and others are not worthy of giving out one dang thing on the page as they never purchased one darn thing in yocash in any way)
3. SOme of the pages are drama pages
4. Last but not lease some of them are scamming pages
5. some of the pages are controlling pages with one boss or group that attacks other pages and or groups.

Easily put, I do not think that BVG has time for this as it looks they do nt have time to make a forum look good, much less baby sit pages on facebook.

NOW. I do think it would be great if BVG would allow us to hold contests off the pages if condtiions are met.
1. it has so many likes.
2. it has so many photos
Etc and etc.

I think BVG can have a submit page button.
Maybe bvg can have criteria and if a page meets the criteria they would give it a link and a BVG stamp.
actually pages sponser a lot of their contests too by boosting and it is free advertising.

Hey, thanks for your answer Zip- always appreciated I hope we can get clarification on this fully because the contest will only run for another 8 or 9 days. Again, thank you for taking the time to post this.

Ive always wanted the HEAD OWNERS to somehow allow pages to be part of them.
I wish they had templates for pages to follow. ..
Facebook has templates for boosting. Did you know this? I think if a page follows the "rules for Boosting an add" and that page makes a contest and follows those specific "Boosted ADD" rules, then the contest should and must be honored.

1. The page owner is following the add rules
2. The contest is an add for YOWORLD for BVG.
3. The Add is paid for by the owner of the page. You can buy an add for 1.00 a day.
(be sure your add is in accordance with all the rules, especially the graphic details, as there is a "grid tool" that must meet the criteria for the add to be accepted by facebook.
4. Be sure to Put the word "YoWorld" on your add, your "page name." (I also like to put my player name ZIPLOCKET)
5. Be sure to put on your page in the description that you are NOT the offical YOWORLD and give the link to the official page and a link to Play yoworld.
6. Be sure to put that You do not accept any donations for the page but that you are SELF supported.
Make sure your target audience is appropriate (this is where I have problems)
It's all only my opinion and input from my own experience.

It is okay if you accidentally make it twice . You can delete your post if it is the most recent post in the thread . I have accidentally posted stuff twice also . Good luck on the poem contest . = D
