I only sell yocash by buying some of the items that were new release and selling them at an event I set. That way I know that customers coming to me are actually looking for said item. I usually start with a small number of the items and see how they sell...and then if i sell them all quickly i will buy more.
I never EVER have people come to me telling me what they want out of the store where I have to go purchase that item and then come back and hope they actually buy it.
Sorry you had such a horrible experience!

Sorry this happened to you.

I used to deal YC a bunch, and the only way I still do it is by 1) rarely selling to strangers, and 2) using the following procedure when I sell to strangers. This procedure works for me - hopefully some variant of this is helpful to you. Good luck! :)

A) Buy 1, Trade 1 At First: When I do sell to strangers, I will buy one item and then trade for that first item. Then I do the same for item 2, and so on. If strangers feel they don't have time or motivation to do this (e.g., they want me to buy 10 items at 12 YC each and *then* trade), then I politely wish them luck in finding another YC dealer and wait for the next customer :)

B) Can I Sell The Item With Ease? The only exception to A) is when I am sure an item is popular and that the next YC customer will probably want the same item (like a new popular hair release, for example). In that case I may choose to take the risk of buying multiple items for a stranger, but it is rare.

I always ask myself if I can easily sell an item if the person buying walks out on the deal. If my answer is no, then I won't buy the item(s). The buyer might not be happy with me, but I will respectfully decline and wish them well in finding a purchaser.

C) Do I want to Sell YC to This Person? If a YC customer comes to my event and something sets off my crud-o-meter, I will respectfully tell a white lie (e.g., plead the inability to count how much YC I had left) and wish the customer well in their search for a YC Dealer. I am not trusting in my business practices until I know the customer really, really well.

Again, best wishes, regardless of whether you decide to sell again. Most Yo's are great peeps! But I appreciate the fact that the few knot-heads have a gift for dampening our fun. :geek:

It's better if u buy items u want, then if u sell them you can go get more for yourself!!

It is because of jerks like that I hardly do random YC trades for players. If I want to sell yc now I will buy items that I know are selling in game and set a price for the item as opposed to a rate. I only do rates for players I know or who have been introduced to me by friends. It sucks but this is the Yoworld we live in nowadays. Many players trying to get *one over* each other! Makes me mad!

Do what I do. Go in there demanding they trade you. Then keep talking like they're pming you. Pretend you traded them and begin to demand your money back. When you get the boot, people will be worried they will boot them too if they trade   then laugh it off at the Altons :D (oh and report the event)

Sorry this happened to you, I've had it happen to me many times. Today, I was selling yocash & this girl came. She wanted the waterfall things in Night Club that were 3yc each and wanted one of each. So I bought, and she gave me 25k:1. Then she asked if I had more yocash she could buy. I told her yes, and she told me then she wanted 15 of each waterfalls for 3yc each. I just couldn't do that. I had the yocash, but come on! I can't trust many and I figured spending that much yocash she would poof on me.

Stick to selling on the forums. That's the only advice I can give.

I think this "poofing on yc dealer" is a new trend. Before 2011, this used to happen very very rarely that nobody was even talking about it.

But now, it happens all the time. I think people ask for the things they actually want to buy but later when they calculate hm coins it costs, they change their mind and poof.

I guess may be it's because people are kind of frustrated about the yc rates being so high, and they kind of want to punish the dealers acting like that ??? LOL
