Problem is that even if it is a kid 11-15 looking for other kids 11-15, he or she has just announced to a world of adults of varying motivations and integrity that he or she is an 11-15 year old.

With Skype and Skype-type programs, it is a small step to inappropriate interaction between kids 11-15 years old or illegal and harmful interaction between an 11-15 year old and a perversely dangerous adult. I've seen it too many times and tried to help in the aftermath of an adult engaging and abusing a child through internet access. And more than once the child being successfully enticed into running away to meet up.

Even if it is a kid 11-15, it is risky to announce it, even though 99.44% of YoWorld is likely driven by pure motives.

this has ALWAYS been an issue for some people. this is not new. taking away dating events is NOT going to lessen the amount of smut we all see ingame most days. if people are into that kind of thing, they will find a way to do it. and if they take away the dating events section, then it will drift over even more to every other category, with even more subtle ways to bring it in

Well, if they take that section away, wont it show that BVG means business? Don't you think it will at least discourage SOME nasty events?

Just a theory. :)

At least with the category, we can keep those events all tidy in one spot.
If it wasn't there, they'd pop up elsewhere. Most of us can police ourselves. As for kids, the parents need to step up and monitor their online activities.

Some posted actually border on adult pornography, based on the opening title, and should be relegated to the garbage, besides being reported.
Some posted target younger gamers, in most particularly 15 and younger, with some actually asking for ages of 11-15.
The authors of said should have their accounts permanently revoked, and the content removed for cause.
Some events on this actually solicit monies for participation, which, not only is against the rules; but, can be construed as illegal solicitation and pandering, as it calls for camera usage/Skype usage.
These are also shown/posted on other events, and should be reported on.
The entire "Dating" category should be removed and penalties rendered for their content, as well as for any future postings within the entire "Events" department.

Here is my take on the dating section:

If it looks obscene, dangerous, or predatory, I report it.

If it looks like a harmless "boy meets girl/boy meets boy/girl meets girl" kinda deal, I mind my own business.

Just my two cents. :)

Nothing wrong with the section, just odd people.
I just feel bad when little kids come on and they get scared of what they are seeing.
I think there should be seperate servers ( One for all that weird stuff and one for normal people )
Just a thought :D

Even if you remove the Dating section, the events will simply move over into other categories. People are people and what we click on is what we are looking for? The children in the game is a worry, but the internet and television in general is as well. The main responsibility for what they have access to belongs to the parents. All that being said, I really believe that in-game monitors could go a long way to ridding YoWorld of predators. BVG just has to establish what they want for guidelines and then figure out how to enforce them. For myself, I just do not go to events that I do not like how it is advertised and if I end up somewhere I feel uncomfortable I poof out fast.

I see more events with horrible names in parties section. it does not matter what section. people will always do what people want. just report any event under any category and click report for adult content. nothing wrong with dating section.

Meh, I've never really ever seen a need for a dating section either....
