I don't mind the LOLs and LMBO and the HAGDs. it's the way in which the other two, which I won't even type, are used here. They are used in an offensive manner and I don't why the people who use them bother to shorten them. Do they think they can be offensive without appearing offensive? As if using an acronym is somewhat less tasteless and confronting but manages to get your insult across? I'm sure that's what they think, which again, says everything about the person posting.

IDK......... ..........Seriously, I'm not sure using acronyms was ever about trying to cover the meaning, I think using them exploded with the dawn of texting. It's a lot faster to type "IDK" than the entire phrase. As for use on the forums.........I think it's probably best that all sorts of controversial / questionable language or representations thereof be left off.

Exactly.. You is still cussing someone out - you may as well just type it all out, cause we all know what you are saying. I really don't see a big difference personally. I don't care if the kids already know it. Of course they do, I'm not that naive. If your not allowed to say What the F*** then how is WT"f" any different. You may as well just type What the - Now this doesn't disturb me as much - cause I see it all the time - But come on, ya get what i'm say'n right. Obviously some do.. Its not about censorship. Since ya not allowed to use the F word.

I think that idea's are the important thing

I'm interested in what you have to say, not how you say it ... but Im reminded that how you 'say it' is as important as what you say.

So if you want your ideas to be respected I would say that you would want to communicated in a respectable manner?

I realize they are the shorthand of cyberspace, still I try to keep all acronyms to a bare minimum. If using them, it's probably best to keep them as clean as you can. When you ask someone, "what's your problem?" vs. "WTF is your problem?", the latter, more than likely, will elicit the greater acrimonious response.

I do not support acronyms for swear words. It is swearing and it should not be allowed.

The whole IDGA* for me is totally below the bar of what should be acceptable. It is just soo dang rude and offensive. Its dismissive as its intended to be - hurtful to the person your saying it too, and makes the person saying it look like an utterly classless fool. IMO of course.
