Hello everyone. I just wanted to make this post, because I as a fairly new player, have realised that it's not the easiest to start up in this game.
I have been to a few pagents in YoWorld, and I really like competing in them. I don't know why I like them so much, but for me, they are just so fun. I like to meet new players at these events, make friends, talk about our interests, etc.
And if you know me, which I'm sure most of you don't, I LOVE HALLOWEEN. I love everything about it.
I love the dressing up, I love the atmosphere, I love the friends coming together for the event.
Anyway, as someone who takes an interesting in pagents, I have decided that I would like to buy some more clothing to help me out. I did some research and went to some priceguides, and looked through some of the clothing items and prices, and I was amazed. I had fallen in love with the halloween from 2009, 2010, 2012. The 2010 whimsical theme, the 2009 christmas theme and a couple others. The only problem was that... I had NO WHERE near the amount of coins that I needed to buy these things.
So, I was wondering, how can a new player start up in this game?

(And I hope this post didn't sound selfish or anything. I just really like pagents and fashion and costume design.)

I know it's really, really early, but...

Look through everything that is for coins in the stores. Both the male and female sections. It is amazing how many great looks you can pull together by combining different themes. I'm sure BVG has some great things planned for this year so try not to get pulled into spending all your coins looking for old items. And little by little as you meet people I'm sure some will gift you items and too you will find some good deals at sales and in the auctions house. I like to come up with an idea for a look and then as I comes across items I build it. Don't feel like you have to buy it all at once, that would be discouraging. Happy hunting! And welcome to Yo!

Buy some Yc and become a dealer

Long story short, a scammer one day told me "don't fall in love with items... ever" which is partly what could help you get "ahead" when it comes to coins. I do love a few items and my collections but I didn't buy them until I had enough coins to afford it. I bought and sold everything until I got here. If reselling is not your thing then yocash, of course, is a best way to earn those items that you want.

The easy answer is to buy and sell YoCash. 10 dollars can make you 1.5m+ coins.

There really aren't many great ways to make coins atm. If I was new and couldn't afford YoCash, I would probably enter contests, pageants, etc., sell off my prizes, then buy other items at low prices and sell higher.

It can take some time to get where you want to be, hope you continue to enjoy the game : )

This is a great answer! If I knew how to do this when I was a new player, this is what I would have done.
But remember that selling/buying isn't everything on yo. Sometimes you get lonely and bored with doing that
and friends is what makes this game better than any others i've played.. chose wisely, and be careful not to get
scammed, because sometime when you make friends, they aren't out to be your friends.. their out to get close to
you, for you to trust them, and scam you.

Buying items at a lower price, and selling them for a higher price would be the cheapest method. It will take time, and it is a little difficult at times [especially if it's an item that's not sought after]. The fastest method would be buying yocash [as others have suggested], although that does require money.

welcome to game,sent you some halloween things,the cannons are cool I sent.( i think) Best advice is buy yocash and never fall for double coin its not true at all no one will ever do that.

Wow you know way more than I did when I was new. lol
If you can buy yocash do it! It supports the game owners and it's worth it imo. I look at it the same way as I do going to the movies, except yocash is cheaper than the movies and a movie is usually only 2 hours long, and you can enjoy your yocash items for months, even years.

Try the photo loops. I loved those when leveling up. And, you can earn a pocket full of coin.

I think I might see if I can get any YoCash, however I am in Australia, and googled if they sell it here, and I don't think they sell it in my town, or in Australia at all. I couldn't find any results.
But anyway I will use your other tips, thank you!

Yes its very hard for new players to make money and i totally understand you.Most of the prices on the items are just CRAZY high.
Here are some examples:
Log in daily to get the bonus of coins
Visit the factory for 220c
Enter contests on fb that groups make
Enter elimination games,pageants ...
Go to maxing events,do the photo loop.

You are certainly pretty new.

How did you hear about Yoworld? Do you have neighbors? Add neighbors to your work crew in the factory so you can get hotdogs...the more workers you have the more coins you will earn at the factory.

But low sell high....at event sales...
Buy yocash with a credit card on the buy yocash tab...look to see which of the yocash items in store seem to be the most wanted , buy a few and sell them for the going rate of which you will need to look around and see what they are selling for.

When I was new I missed the 09 Halloween theme because i had no coins and i had no idea about costumes anyway...i was too busy trying to decorate my new apartment with stuff other than the started items. haha I didn't catch on to the costumes i missed out on til almost a year later! Bummer for me....by then they were selling for triple what they were sold for in the beginning!
